PsychoBeano
Whoa, this thread went down hill fast. I could care less about food. I just meant that it was common courtesy. If I wanted to be paid I would have said so before making the two hour drive. I wanted to go to get the experience. And I did. Baker I was glad to help. I know you paid for the engine but there was nothing given for the install is all. When I pay my mechanic I dont pay him for only the part, even it is 5 grand. I still have to pay for the labor, however cheap it is. Even if he offered to do it for free, I wouldnt want him to do it for free. Because we all know how good free labor turns out, as per this thread. That is all. It surprises me how juvenile VS can be. . . Whatever though. Theres nothing that we can do about it now. bagodoosh
and its also great to see how many people who were backing mike up in the first thread how they just dont show up here hmmm i wonder why that is?i defended mike's position in the original post. i don't know either party and i'm from the east coast.i'm not going to participate here due to the mob mentality in the previous post. people made assumptions and threw accusations and called it fact. if there was evidence that would make something more likely, people were saying it's proof that it's definite.it's like having a complex formula, and trying to solve a proof for A=B, but instead basing your argument that they are equal because they are both numbers.bleh. mrmattson
So I talked to Boomin850 today about it all and all he could do was laugh at this situation. The first thing he could say was "what a dumbass." Basically this is what he said. Baker rushed him on the last Saturday to pick up his car. Boomin850 told him that all he was able to do was to drive it down the street and back. He wasn't able to make sure everything was 100% and Baker KNEW THAT. When Baker came to pick up the car Boomin850 was at work and his gf was the one to hand him the keys along with a paper releasing all liability. She also told him there was like 80% water instead of coolant and to take it easy on the way home. Baker decided to go check out the car before signing, but after a bit he signed both copies and left with his friend. This was when I saw him going WOT down a local street on the way to the freeway. Ok so now you guys tell me...Baker knew the car had only gotten down the street and back and yet still wanted to pick up the car. He also knew that there was very very diluted coolant in the engine and still wanted to drive it like a dick. He also knew what he was doing by signing the liability waiver and he still signed that. As far as compression numbers, I was there when Boomin850 did the check and got 150 across all cylinders. Also some other things I thought were funny Boomin850 decided to mention: Baker poking up the downpipe bolts so you had to pull the engine with the downpipe still on it. Baker decided to go against what Boomin850 said and install his coolant sensor without the right adapter (used Teflon tape to make it "fit").Overall I think this whole thing is a load of I'm dumb now. You guys put Boomin850 on the cross for dealing with a dumbshit. Bottom line is Baker got to drive the car before leaving, signed the liability waiver, knew the car shouldn't be driven hard, then drove like a douchbag. Pretty sure this case is closed

Plan_B
and I LOL at you for coming on here and just brushing the situation off of you shoulders. Your friend fucked up...thats the bottom line. Hes a scam artist trying to make a buck from anyone he can. This thread makes me sick, thinking that someone could fuck over a fellow enthusiast so bad...and not give two shits about them.I hope no one does business with this joker from this time out. If it hasn't already, someone needs to link this thread over the SS and TB.Settle down little girl, it's best to hear both sides before making judgements ;)

After all, your only posts on Volvospeed have been in this thread, and you only joined today. Why would I join a Volvo site when I don't drive a Volvo? I had a username a few years ago when I had my S60 and my sister's 850 Wagon, I don't remember what it was and I just signed up to see what was going on in here after hearing about it from Mike. I'm 5000+ posts on VWVortex if it matters...http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerouser?cmd=vi...le&id=72976

Mogatu'r
Pretty sure this case is closed WOw, ok... 5k spent on a "built" motor that lasts 30 mins - 1hr lol? Oh yeah, sure man cased closed. IF anyone had done this to him, he would have whined and bitched all day long, he bitched about a 500DP "which he got fixed in a timely matter" ok, so you think Baker should bend over and get screwed?.... Why dont you tell him to come and post that stuff himself, having a friend to do it for him... Wow, what a lame person!!! Another thing, who is to say that the "built" engine wasn't having issues in the white 850R? eh? Someone should cross post this thread on Turbobricks
