Modus
Okay lots of break threads but non containing what I wish to know.Granted that replacing both as a set is the best. (pads and rotor)However if certain circumstances cease to let that happen could this scenario be true?Could I take out my PBR semi-metals and put in slightly used stock pad(1kmiles)?Yea talk about breaking the rules of breaking. Reason why? Have the front Powerslot rotors with the IPD recommended PBR semi-metals from their kit. They stated that their warranty would be void if any other pads were used. (glazing) Why is this true? The pads are terrible in the wet! geeeezzz Can I run OEM with Powerslot rotors?I'm finding that I dislike the PBR's more and more every time there's rain. Their great for dry weather however after countless times of saying that these su*k when I have to slow after going through a puddle. I mean a cold wet slam. Driving in a mist, on the highway, doing 70mph, long enough where the rotors have cooled to ambient temperature then to smash through a puddle and have one of those dang break checks. Seems that I have to waste precious distance for wiping the rotor before it bites. I'm done! I would like to take them out. I have OEM's that are used about 1k miles sitting in the garage. Could I score up the Rotors..(brass wire wheel and/or a sand pad on a drill) and proceed the proper bed-in? Rotors have 5/8's of meat left, Plenty of slotAnswer to my own question? I have had experience with the Eurosportuning front Xdrilled and slotted rotors and KVR carbonfiber pads. The performance of the pads were great, but due to pads not fitting well in the caliper (clicking over bumps) (shims caused drag) talk about annoying issues, I optioned to put my stock pads back in. After 6K miles of driving I needed new rotors due to the slots where wearing in from the outside. This could instate that the rotors were truly heat cycled for the KVR (metal memory) and adding the OEM wore them down. Crap shoot. Either way I guess I'm gonna need to buy new rotors eventuallyTanks =-

monkeybird02
Try it man. OEM pads arent going to trash your rotors. Rotors are disposable items, anyways. Once every couple of years isnt bad. Have fun. ;)
