F1 - Montreal

Here are a couple shots from the GP. Had 3 day passes, sold them and left after the final practice saturday. Worst general admission EVER. There were only about 2 places to shoot from that weren't obscured by a tree, privacy fence, piece of plywood, or just plain old off limits.

f1 is not too popular in the states?

damn, in asia its hot especially in my country.. have yet to watch it live though, very expensive :(

rumor is kubica is being courted by ferrari for the '09 season..

Unfortuanetely not really popular, too many stupid people that watch only nascar and they can't understand how in the world car can turn right... I went to see US grandprixs, not is it only in Canada and way too expensive. In Indianapolis there were a lot of europeans who traveled for the race, it was cheaper for them to fly from Europe for 3 days to Indianapolis, watch the race and then fly back. F1 tix in US were very cheap.

actually, in malaysia singapore and china, the gp tickets are around $100-200 only and that is on the grandstands already, its the hotel accomodations that are killers. i just inquired for the singapore night race, and all hotels are fully booked already.. this hotel, Fullerton (6 stars) has the race going on in front of there hotel, imagine they are charging $800 a night for that weekend.. its crazy.

even the small hotels are fully booked.. but i hope to go to either the malaysia or china race next year.. have to save a lot. it'l probably set me back around $1000 including airfare and hotel accomodations.

Nice F-1 shots, I had gone to every race in the States and the last to in Montreal for the last 9 years! This was the first year I missed F-1 race... :( I used to sit in turn 1 at Indy and the hairpin at Montreal... I have pix of Kubicas crash before all the emergncy works got to his car.... That was Amazing!

You know F-1 is more popular now then it was 15 years ago, I remeber try to watch them on ESPN, now we now get them in HD...

Oh and Colthard isn't running on intermediate tires... He's on the soft compound. ;)
