	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	I have looked to see if this is covered but did not see it. I am looking at fitting a bluetooth Grom unit to my 2006 D5 XC90, when fitted the stereo turns on, then turns off. This has to do with the MOST. Without going to the dealer, which is extortionate, is there another way to disable the settings? I have Dice and Vida.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks,

	I have had several Volvos (96 960-98 s/v70) and enjoyed swapping the 816 for the 811 and 901. My issue is kind of...mixed. I need exact dimensions of the SC radio. I know double din is 7x4 (180mmx100mm). I don't have a Volvo now and don't have a working radio in my honda. I LOVE the sound quality from the 811 and 901. I want to find a dash kit if possible. I understand the SC is an oddball size. Yes I have tried measuring my SC. That's about 7.37"x4.37". That equates to approx 184-187mmX110-111mm. I need help figuring the exact size. I can not find anything internet or market related to this size radio. I need an adapter. Are older Volvos the only vehicles that have this size?

	Morning Gents.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So I have an HU-803 system in the 04 v70.
</p>

<p>
	From what im gathering it has a 300watt amp?   Under the pass seat, which looks to have water damage.  Which would explain why only the center speaker is working.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Having the 18 s60 ive been spoiled with a back up camera on that and my s70, so ideally id love to just go ahead and put an aftermarket HU in there with back up cam.
</p>

<p>
	GOAL -
</p>

<p>
	Replace the HU803 with an aftermarket head unit.<br />
	Wire up back up camera correctly so it comes on in reverse.<br />
	Keep the steering wheel controls.<br />
	Replace bad amp with either OE or aftermarket for less.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Can anyone assist in how to do this? <br />
	<br />
	Going to need the dash kit, a good recommendation, maybe under $500 for the headunit and $100 for the amp, and sounds like wiring kit to hook up an amp? looking for as OE plug and play as possible.  <br />
	Android Auto would be a plus, but I think for Android Auto with bluetooth instead of wired im looking at the $1,000+ range, so wired would be fine too. (Ideally looking to run waze, but im also ok with not using android auto at all as ill likely just use waze on the my phone up higher in view than down on the radio.)
</p>

	Hi

<p>
	I have just installed a used 6 cd changer in my V70 2009. Prior I had just 1 disc. <br />
	Now I am experiencing a few problems:
</p>

<p>
	1) The radio (FM) switches off after approx. 15 seconds.<br />
	2) AUX also switches off after approx. 15 seconds<br />
	3) I cannot access the CD player
</p>

<p>
	Anyone have an idea how I can solve that problem? I replaced the radio unit without disconnecting the wires in the console.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks

	I have a 2005 S40 with the optional factory 6-CD changer (12 spkrs, 325 watts total). The system sounds great, but there were intermittent times when the changer couldn't mechanically switch between cd's. You could hear it trying, then give up with an error code. Eventually, the unit would succeed - until now. My cd player now says "deck error" and it hasnt been able to mount a cd. I took it to the dealer and they're going to replace it (I'm 21.5 k into my warranty). Has anyone else had a similar issue? I'm hoping that maybe this was just an early generation problem and the replacement will have a longer life. A friend's V60 sound started to break. Snapping is really short but continuous. The problem is with all sources, TV, radio and blutooth. The amplifier wires have been looked at and seem to be well in place. At the same time the used battery came off, after which it worked for about 5-10min normally and after that the disconnection started again.The problem is with all the speakers.

<p>
	Ideas for which unit would that problem go to locate? We also tried another amplifier. It did not help. We couldn't play the <a href="https://kostenloseklingeltone.de/" rel="external nofollow">klingeltöne</a>

	Almost since ive had the S70 (98) I've always had static with the headlights on, when you turn them off, the static goes away. <br />
	Same with if I turn on the rear window defrost, if its on, its static on some channels and goes away once off.

<p>
	Both the front and rear door speakers were (as of September 2018) unavailable from Volvo (list price &gt;$100, each).<br />
	<br />
	That that seems to leave either used speakers that are just as old as mine,  or 6.5 inch aftermarket speakers ($10 each?) as the remaining options. Adapting aftermarket speakers for the rear door speakers looks easy enough -- the terminals are part of the speaker mounting frame, which I would re-use with aftermarket replacement speakers, soldering the aftermarket speaker leads to the Volvo frame.<br />
	<br />
	However, on the front door speakers, the terminals appear to be part of the speaker itself, and not the frame that the speaker is glued to, so reusing the mounting frames requires either an adapter subharness or splicing the standard aftermarket speaker wires into the Volvo speaker wires.<br />
	<br />
	It looks like adapters that are supposed to work are available from the UK and fleabay UK. (Glancing at some of the shipping charges, I'm not sure that they really want to sell to the US.)<br />
	<br />
	Has anyone found adapters that will work that are available in the US? I'd prefer not to cut into the car's speaker wiring harness and also prefer not to pay more for shipping adapters (that might or might not work) than for all the speakers.<br />
	<br />
	Thanks!<br />

<p>
	Greetings...
</p>

<p>
	A few 850 and 70-series drivers here may remember posts about the Antenna Down Switch for these cars (Volvo p/n 9204656 -- I believe this is specifically for the black switch, not grey, but I don't believe that matters in terms of wiring).  Here's a classic thread that includes a great photo from <strong>Mesoam</strong>:
</p>
<iframe allowfullscreen="" data-controller="core.front.core.autosizeiframe" data-embedcontent="" data-embedid="embed4457352698" scrolling="no" src="https://volvospeed.com/topic/28988-antenna-down-switch-part/?_fromLogin=1&amp;do=embed" style="height:205px;max-width:502px;"></iframe>

<p>
	My question...  I recently picked up the SWITCH ONLY (black, for the 850 interior) on eBay and am now struggling to determine the pinouts for makeshift cabling.  In my scratchy diagram (attached), I believe Pin #5 is the one that should pass +power to the antenna when the switch is in the ON position.  If so, it would seem that I could splice this power in from the head unit's antenna +power output at Pin #s 1 or 3...
</p>

<p>
	...but what about the embedded light inside the switch?  Would I need to connect another available ground wire at Pin 1 or 3 (which seem to be hardwired together regardless of switch position)?  Or at 2 or 5?  Or... ?  Can't tell this from that image in the 2005 post.
</p>

<p>
	Or might anyone have a wiring diagram detailed enough to show this?
</p>

<p>
	I realize this may be a "play with the wires and figure it out" scenario, but if anyone already has the answer...  Many thanks.
</p>

<p>
	This install procedure applies to all P2 models without premium audio. This is a quick and easy speaker upgrade to get ready of those factory paper cone speakers. The front and rears are both 6.5", so you'll have a plethora of options to replace them. I choose these Pioneers for their good reviews and cost effectiveness. At this point anything would be better than the rattling paper cones that are totally blown out. I'm using a PA-200 amp from an S80 to power them, and I'm sure they would stand up to a PA-300.

</p>

<p>
	Things you'll need for this job;
</p>

<p>
	Torx T25
</p>

<p>
	Flathead screwdriver
</p>

<p>
	Cordless Drill
</p>

<p>
	Soldering iron
</p>

<p>
	wire strippers.
</p>

<p>
	After you remove the door panel you can access the speaker. As mentioned above we are NOT going to be drilling the rivets out for the speaker brackets.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://imageshack.com/i/pnWg0ggQj" rel="external nofollow"><img src="https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/923/Wg0ggQ.jpg" class="ipsImage" alt="Wg0ggQ.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	First we'll need to gently pry around the outside edge of the speaker to break the adhesive free.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://imageshack.com/i/pmr4J5EWj" rel="external nofollow"><img src="https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/922/r4J5EW.jpg" class="ipsImage" alt="r4J5EW.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	Next you'll need to turn the speaker counter clockwise to release it from the locking tabs. This can a little effort, so you may need to tap the screwdriver with a hammer to get it moving. This is why releasing the adhesive is so important ;)
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://imageshack.com/i/poOHrMg6j" rel="external nofollow"><img src="https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/924/OHrMg6.jpg" class="ipsImage" alt="OHrMg6.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	These next two images are to show the locking tabs on the speaker and in the speaker bracket for clarity.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://imageshack.com/i/pmLjwPLoj" rel="external nofollow"><img src="https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/922/LjwPLo.jpg" class="ipsImage" alt="LjwPLo.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://imageshack.com/i/poTt6wm7j" rel="external nofollow"><img src="https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/924/Tt6wm7.jpg" class="ipsImage" alt="Tt6wm7.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	Now we connect the new speakers. Solder the wire ends to the terminals left in the speaker grill. Use the factory harness to locate the positive terminal, it will be grey/and whatever color. The negative terminal is sold grey.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://imageshack.com/i/plsgmmctj" rel="external nofollow"><img src="https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/921/sgmmct.jpg" class="ipsImage" alt="sgmmct.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	Finally it's time to screw in the speaker. You'll need some small self tapping screws or use the provided screws that came with your speakers like I did.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://imageshack.com/i/pooTtBgPj" rel="external nofollow"><img src="https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/xq90/924/oTtBgP.jpg" class="ipsImage" alt="oTtBgP.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>
	And voila, you're done! All 4 speakers should take an hour or less from start to finish. Good luck!
</p>

<p>
	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	I'm desperately trying to get my AUX to work. It's built in in the centre arm rest. I have a 'mode' button on the head unit, but it will only select CD.
</p>

<p>
	What's going on? It's like the head unit either can't see the AUX port, or it hasn't been programmed.
</p>

<p>
	Please please someone help!
</p>

<p>
	Thanks!
