	not sure how many responses or ppl are still here but.. it's been some years since the 'hey day' of the Volvo 850.. in the last 10yrs i've notice a DRAMATIC decline in the number i see on the road, still going..
</p>

<p>
	we all know the 1995 850 T-5R was the golden goose of the 850 (and well, Volvo, in general - as there's a yellow wagon in the Volvo museum in Sweden) and single-handedly brought Volvo back to racing and back in the spotlight. this car was, essentially, a homologation special.
</p>

<p>
	how many do you think are still on the road. OF THOSE, how many do you think are wagons? OF THOSE, how many do you think are YELLOW wagons?
</p>

<p>
	i recently re-read an old Car and Driver article that states, "this is a short-run, limited-edition machine: Volvo expects to build a total of 1000 T-5Rs, in both four-door sedan and wagon variants (the latter style will account for about 10% of the mix). prices are $36,350 for the sedan and $38,056 for the wagon - about five grand more than the 850 turbos.."  with inflation, a T-5R wagon today would be about $78,700
</p>

<p>
	so logically, if only 10% of T-5Rs were wagons, and OF THOSE, let's say half were black and half were YELLOW.. then T-gul wagons would be only 5% of the total made?
</p>

<p>
	NOW, to the point of this post - what would you pay for a clean, decently low mileage YELLOW wagon today?
</p>

<p>
	bear in mind, you can look up past bring a trailer sales/prices and base them upon mileage and condition, or if you can find one for sale currently.. or just the fact you haven't seen one in person for years..
</p>

<p>
	i recently purchased a yellow wagon out of Canada as a Japanese import (so RHD), with 188km (roughly 117k mi) that is almost museum quality.. some quirks are that there's no headlight wipers? like, there's no holes for them under the headlights, nor motors - just closed out totally from factory; which would lead you to believe there's no 'winter package' but there's still seat heaters and heated mirrors?  there's no passenger airbag. SERIOUSLY. even BASE MODEL U.S. 850s had passenger airbags. all warning labels throughout are in Japanese (to be expected) and the headlights are factory E-code and the sidemarkers are amber.
</p>

<p>
	since this is my 1st wagon, i'd looked up some factory optional equipment that came with this car starting with the OEM front strut bar. roof rails. it also has the rear cargo curtain. automatic transmission (which U.S. *only got, but was an extra cost in other markets).
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	what would you pay, or think this is worth now?
</p>

<p>

	Howdy,
</p>

<p>
	The Swede, <span style="font-size:8px;">from Sweden</span>, is back after many years away from the Volvo scene, when I join you guys in 2005 I was driving and modding a 98 V70R AWD (pics here: <a href="https://awdturbo.net/1998-v70r-awd/" rel="external nofollow">https://awdturbo.net/1998-v70r-awd/</a> ). Sold it in 2011 and went on to other brands.
</p>

<p>
	Anyway, I'm back in the Volvo now making something that never was intended from Volvo. Not even a concept car was produced of the 460 with awd or a turbo engine, never been sold in the states so google it and you seen what it is and what it look like. This car will be inspected and legal to drive on the roads after it finished, I do have to get it inspected with the factory LPT @ 193 hp but after that it's another story hehehe.
</p>

<p>
	So I bought a rust bucket 1997 Volvo 850 STW with the LPT 193 hp 5-cyl turbo, 5-spd and AWD, the timing belt was broken so I expect some bent valves. Paid $80 for it, first I was going to make it a BTCC copy car but changed my mind when I found all the rust in floor and rocker panels. So I was thinking, what vehicle can I put this drive train in?? Then it hit me, the Volvo 460 has never ever been modified by anyone. The 440/460 has never been a popular model here in Sweden or the rest of the world as what I know. There are literally nothing to buy to these cars in the aftermarket scene, no led light no spoilers nothing.
</p>

<p>
	So because I'm not like everybody else I wanted to greate a car that ppl would laugh at and pointing fingers saying: Look at that moron that modified an Volvo 460, (fwd and 110hp), and then I break loose all 4 tires at the stop light. The ultimate sleeper is what I want.
</p>

<p>
	So I found a 1994 Volvo 460 next door with only 86K miles on it for 35 bucks, it ran perfectly but rocker panel were rusted bad. Stripped the 850 and kept the front clip and rear subframes and the whole drive line, now I'm in the process of matching it on the 460 body. And it's not an easy job I'll tell you.
</p>

<p>
	Anyway, if some of you are interested in the process I'm putting all of it on YT. Sorry to say the videos are in Swedish but if I get enough subscribers from the states I'll start making the videos in English. Link in my signature.
</p>

<p>
	Also check out Swedes Garage on Instagram (English), pictures come before videos.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks anyway, cheers from Sweden <span class="ipsEmoji">😉</span>

<p style="text-align:center;">
	The Event will be held once again at Ace Cafe Orlando, full bar with breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, plus an awesome venue with tons of automotive nostalgia on display.

	Hello Volvo Speeders, My handle is Quip1337x on everything pretty much. I never drove much before 2020 except when i was around 19 years old I lived in my 1982 (I think) Honda civic 5 speed before it was towed. I Took my taxes this year and sought to buy a car to drive for the first time in about 10 years. I started my research on Youtube and google searches for reliable or fun cars, I went into craigslist hoping to find a Toyota or VW golf. After weeks of used car shopping online, I never found a car I liked. Then I saw a sapphire blue 1998 Volvo C70 2.3l 5T coupe  automatic. It was priced $500 over my limit but  bargained with the seller down to $1000. (I know its not worth $1000 I Don't care..) The car was garaged for most of its life and the inside is very clean so I weighed the pros and cons. There is some body damage I have yet to fix, The infamous seat spring issue, engine light, abs light, worn tires, sound dampener in the right front strut isn't doing its job so i squeak and creak on bumps, But i'm bit by bit paying or learning how to fix the problems. My ultimate goal is to restore the C70 to its former glory and then work on upgrading it to bring to my local track and race. I'm new to all of this but have learned a ton in the past few months. The article about upgrading the fwd turbo Volvos is helping but it feels like im learning from the middle of the text book.
</p>

<p>
	Here's my new old Volvo. had to buy new tires to use the stock rims.
</p>

	100 degrees out is perfect for photos. Almost at 200k miles and got my engine lights turned off. Don't hesitate to Reach out and have a conversation with me, I'd love to make a Friend to talk cars with. its kind of my new obsession.

	This looks like a forum I have been looking for; lots of performance upgrade information and support!   Spent a few years (and quite a few dollars) bringing a 2002 V70 X/C up to a stage Zero.  When I decided to upgrade, there did not seem to be many people who like to modify Volvo's for performance. I am currently upgrading the V70 X/C and would appreciate comments and advice.     So far, here is what is going on:
</p>

<p>
	16T turbo upgrade, green injectors, port matching and polishing on the head, polished interior surfaces of the exhaust manifold, Mototec down pipe and Touring exhaust, (Yes, I am past the loud car stage and am building a Stealth Volvo.), do88 drop in intercooler and piping, Snabb intake pipe, IPD TCV and a Hiliton tune.  Motor is getting new rod bearings and a head gasket.  Hoping the bottom end is in good shape at 170K miles; I would like to stop the money out flow.
</p>

<p>
	     I have another 2002 V70 2.4T in good shape sitting in the driveway (annoying the wife) and I am considering an all out engine/tranny build just so I can beat my little brothers new BMW on the autocross track.  This will have to wait for the X\C to get finished, but you never know...
</p>

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	 I am new to the forum. I've been driving a 240 wagon for about eight years,  but I recently purchased a newer model. Its a 1998 V70 XC Cannondale edition.
</p>

<p>
	 I am familiar with the 240, but I have many questions about this newer rig.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks for having me.

<p>
	Hello all from SLC Utah been finding many answers on this forum to few Volvo s I've owned. Right now I am working with a 1999 s70 GLT all stock for now with almost 200k miles. I've been working on getting it to stage zero. Need to replace boost/vac lines fuel filter and while I'm at it going to put a walbro 450 pump in. (I know huge pump for these but I'm parting out my 90 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gsx and figure why buy one when I have that one.) Also planning on using a real Gerrett 60 trim turbo and going to try to fit a back door in/out fmic from my eclipse (dsm) I have many left over parts from the countless I've had. Most are universal like boost gauge wide band apex electric boost controller intercooler piping tial bov/waist gate. Trying to get my hands on a m66 as I'm writing this to swap it into my car once I find the clutch peddle assem. Also going to be trying some retro fit stuff from a 2001 Volvo v70xc that I picked up for $200 with an intake cam leak. Looking forward to making some Friends and all the great knowledge here.
