Coolant float switch

'97 850 GLT: after troubleshooting (tipped the reservoir upside down & replaced it; coolant lite went out), it looks like the float switch won't stay activated, even though the reservoir has plenty of fluid. Is the float replaceable, or do I have to buy the whole reservoir?

Midsummer Rally in Northern Virginia on August 8th

Our destination will be Front Royal, where restorer Walt Moyer will take us on a tour of his collection of over 30 rare and historically significant cars.

Cold drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be provided at our destination.

Please plan to arrive by 9:00 a.m. with your gas tank full and bladders empty, as our journey will last 97 miles. We'll have a round of introductions, distribute and review the route and hit the road.

She also still owes the bank for the title. Note from the organizers:

For those of you that missed us last year, we had an epic Meet last year at the Volvo of Toronto. It had several great milestones as a Canadian Volvo enthusiast event. It was the first time I have recalled in recent history that a Club event was endorsed by an actual Volvo Dealer in Ontario. That said, things are different this year as the parking lot is no longer available due to a new building constructed there, 2013 will need a new venue location. I'd like to thank Lee Potter - Operations Manager of Volvo of Toronto for the incredible opportunity to have the Meet take place at location on their property for what happened Last year!

Our 2nd major milestone was that for the year of 2012, we had the 2nd largest Volvo Club event in Canada behind the CVC Annual Family Day in Ilderton.

3rd and lastly, we broke the year before in turnout with an official car count of 48 Volvo cars that joined our Event.

For 2013, we're expecting an amazing turnout, from 40-50 cars and a broad newer range spectrum of Volvos.

We're reaching out to our roots and have contacted CVC whom we are closely acquainted with and for the first time has recognized our unofficial club/crew/group presence. Michael Lim who is the new newsletter editor is working on that front. Things are slowly unfolding, but it looks like we're going to be solidifying a location for our Meet.

After a supposed Volvo specialist in my local area looked at me puzzled when I said "RN LPT Motor" I have decided to seek someone out here on the off chance that I can find somebody who knows how to do a 03 LPT RN swap into a 98 C70 T5m. I am willing to pay fairly for a motor swap, source all the parts prior to the swap, and even help at your location. Hey, I am not sure if I am breaking any rules by informing you guys, and sorry if I am, but I thought many of you may benefit in knowing.

Last year I started my own business, buying/selling used European cars. Not long into it, I pretty much exclusively began dealing with VOLVO's. I usually have a few in stock (XC70's, S60's, V70's, V40's, etc). I try to hand select them and have a variety of Low mileage or High Mileage ones, and I price them as fair as I can. I am a car enthusiast (BMW's and Volvo's) and will really go out of my way to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase.

I've sold over 15 Volvo's in the last 6 months and have gotten a few referrals from happy customers.

So Rboy8 had this nice idea to start a GTA Volvo decal (Greater toronto Area for you non T.O people) , which could lead to other more official things, like merchandise, club etc.

Anyway, he came up with the original design:

He asked for my help to finish it, as this was sorta unpolished. Most of the chat was first started here but I wanted to make this more open to VS members as well.

Annual End Of Summer Meet 2012 - Gta Volvos

Alright, it's that time of the year again! Last year was a complete blast, and we had the largest showing ever with over 45+ cars. I'm optimistic this year, and I feel that this year will outdo the last with over 50 cars. We also had tremendous support from sponsors from Volvo of Canada, CFWerks, and EST with raffle prizes. This year, we're throwing this out earlier for other supporters and companies to get involved.

This has been a yearly tradition with the first one started back in 2010. It has been a success from the start, and it will continue to grow year by year. This year, we're officially starting up a GTA Volvos club, with stickers designed by Michael Lim.

Location: Volvo of Toronto. 43 Eastern Ave.

Cost per car: $0! FREE

Volvo of Toronto is generous enough to allow us to be hosting the event at their location located at 43 Eastern Rd, in the heart of Toronto. Their parts department will also be open for the day offering 20% off for anyone attending the meet/show.

People are welcome to join at any time, but the meet starts officially at 1:00pm. The event won't have an official end time but rather until everyone starts to slowly disperse.

Feel free to bring friends, family, and most importantly cameras.

As well, if you have parts for sale, I suggest you should bring them! Don't be shy about your car, if it's stock, it's fine! Needs work? Perfect time to come and ask some experts or enthusiasts that have a similar car. There's no excuse to miss this!

Hello everyone,

I just picked up my V70 yesterday My Legacy's head gasket went a few weeks ago, and have been looking for a good wagon, and ended up coming across this one.

I'm very happy with it, and cant wait to get few things done to it! Not doing too much since most of my money will be going to the STi swap to the Legacy, but looking to lower the V70, get some wheels and exhaust on it. Just the basics.
