yay all the parts are on their way!

So let me get this straight.... anyone who's competent enough to splice or solder 2 wires together can make their own solenoid and save $50 over what IPD wants for theirs? Hilarious.

Oh and I got about 10 feet of 4mm silicone vacuum line. While I'm in there, I'm just going to replace all the vac lines to the compressor and wastegate and any others I feel like doing.

I just got mine from the dealer and I'm hitting a Junkyard Friday for both plugs.

I figured I'd give it a try, its $30! And I did it myself! :)

> A Volvo plug, I think its the same as a turnsignal

NEU, if you can find this pigtail at the junkyard, please tell us which model of Volvo they are available from. Certainly beats paying $8($5.99+$2 for shipping) for a new one.

I'll let you know which car I get it from. But I think any Volvo or any other European car would have them in it... I'm going to look around the fuel system since the plug is for injector.

So did you do the break in that IPD recommend to do?

I did not follow it to the letter due to road conditions but I did drive around slowly for a bit w/out building boost. It's probably best that you try to do the break-in procedure as best as you can.

Well I played hooky today and when to the yard, that plug is nearly impossible to find! I found plugs similar but or one I found with very thin wires. I was successfully in a s70, the transmission connector and in a VW golf MK4, around the alternator. But they are slightly different and some filing of one of the notches is needed to make it work, the GM harness was EZ right under the washer bottles off a Caddy and a Pontiac. I think your best bet is to order the bosch plug online or dig thru several cars for find a similar connector. I'll take some pictures soon and make my harness in a bit and figure out how to hook the vacuum lines up...

Well I did it. It was a pain in the ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD to find the right plug so I ground down the notches on anther style.

Here is the Bosch female connecter in the cars harness.

Volvo boost solenoid with the Bosch male connecter, notice the notch on top is in the center

Volvo connector, sorry I can't remember where it came off of. I believe it was on the trany

Ground down the offest notches.

Adaptor harness with Delco on one end Bosch on the other.

Finished produced, I've mounted it here for now I think I'll reroute some the hoses if everything is good.

The results.... I works, I did the IPD break in procedure but I could tell it was working mine must have been on its way out, I could tell it was acting sluggish. Boost seems to come on much earlier feels good driving at low RPM under 2KRPM and has a strong pull all the way to 6KRPM, I don't have a boost gauge yet but it had that good seat of the pants feel.

Cheaper then IPD, total cost was $31 for new Solenoid and 2 used connectors...

I may go out tonight and test drive some more to see how nice it working out. :D :D :D :D I'm just suprised this isn't more of an issure with other folks there is a guy on SS, he has changed out 10 TCV in 2 years! And until IPD started selling there HD I've never heard about this problem??

so does it cut down on lag that technically shouldn't be there in the first place? I know it's different but when I put my MBC on, lag was nearly totally eliminated.

Yes it did and similar to calms of the IPD version "helped fast acceleration, boost reachs the peak smooth, tcv valve can hold the high boost without any problem at high rpms/speed".

good good. the solenoid and weather proof plug that goes into the solenoid (black/red wire) came in today. With any luck the vac lines and yellow/black wire plug will show up tomorrow or friday.

Man between that and the new down pipe and cat back for her car, this weekend should be relatively entertaining!

I have acquired the weatherpak pigtail for my extra solenoid(junkyard). I too will be installing the Delco solenoid in the wife's car this weekend.
