Ac Delco Boost Solenoid Installed

Recommended Posts

I have to amend my original findings - I had a large split in one hose that was limiting overall boost - with that corrected (all new Stylin'Motors hoses) I did a side-by side comparison of the Volvo TCV & the AC Delco...

Just testing the first three gears, since I don't want anymore tickets...

Volvo TCV (IPD T5M + remap)...

1st: 6psi @ 5500

2nd: 15psi @ 5500

3rd: 15psi @ 5500

Delco TCV...

1st: 12psi @ 5500

2nd: 17psi @ 5500

3rd: 16psi @5500

in the upper 3 remaining gears, boost comes on earlier & stronger than the stock TCV: For example, I get 21psi in 5th @ 3K :)

21 lbs? Sheeiittt, I need to get me some of that!

You guys think this fix wold work on an S80 (knowing that you guys don't know much about the car) I gotta believe that it should, maybe I'll give it a try with some newly acquired funds. haha.

Please let me know who the guy with a 21lbs S80 T6 is, I wanna talk to him and see if his Tranny Bombed yet.

I USED A THE END CONNECTOR OF A 91 VOLVO 240 OXYGEN SENSOR, FOUND AT A SCRAP YARD

RPM SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR 98 S70 IS THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT COLOR

Just to throw the info around out here on this topic: When installing the gm boost control solenoid with a megasquirt the ecu triggers the ground side. So hookup the hot side constant (with an inline fuse) and then the negative side goes to the corresponding pin on MS...S2 on my relay board.

can you tell me where the wires go on the gm solenoid? volvo ones are colored. the stock tcv is diffrent physically. any pics would be great, thanks.

I know, I no longer have that spike/cut in 3rd that held me back the first time around... ..hopefully later in the fall/early winter - I'm starting my Master's Thesis class this evening, and I'll be buried in research... :( ..gotta make time for fun, though
