ErikS
Junior year in HS parents went out of town. Father owned a 1987 Porsche 944T with lots of extras. Mint. I found the keys and took it to school, drove it with my friends, had a blast. Pulled into the garage, remembered I had brought a tape (Beastie Boys). Stuck it into the Blaupunk tape deck.It jams ...In my infinite 17 year old wisdom I decide to try to pull it out with plyers and the tape cracks and explodes inside the unit, I slip and hit my head on the rearview mirror breaking that too. Would never had gotten caught had it not been for the tape, it cost me $400 and was grounded for 3 months.

caanglin
I forgot to tighten the lug nuts on the Integra after working on it (don't remember what I was doing). Luckily I remembered as I was pulling out of the sub division.
TRACStar
my first car was a 1986 monte carlo ss with a blown motor. dropped in a stock 305 and was in such a rush to drive it that as soon as i got it started i took it for a drive. 3 miles later theres smoke coming from under the hood, popped the hood to find that i didn't tie up the harness anywhere and it rested on the exhaust mani shorted some wires and every wire under the hood was in flames was a blessing though cause after that i got a 350 and just trashed the whole harness anyway
Fudge_Brownie
Backed into a rock wall late one night thinking I was backing into the road next to the rock wall, putting huge scars on my rear bumper Managed to melt a spark plug, engine swap followed. During the engine swap, I screwed up my pack, resulting in a herniated disc and the associated pains that followed months later, and still continue. :(Drove to newport after an oil change thinking I or my brother had secured the whole cap. Neither of us can remember who put the oil cap on, but whoever did it, me or him, did it wrong haha. It popped off on the highway. Who knows how far I drove, but I eventually noticed a smoke cloud as I got off the highway and as I pulled up to a stop light off the ramp, I smelt burning oil. Managed to pump 4 quarts of brand new oil onto the highway. And perhaps the dumbest thing ever looking back on it. 100mph in a 95 Grand Prix on a local backroad late one night. No ABS, poor brakes. I hit the brakes as the turn came at the end of the straight away (as I had done several times before) and the back of the car lifted as I entered the turn. Brakes locked and I spun it. Front bumper clipped a tree that I really thought the whole car was headed for. Passanger in the back seat was not seatbelted and I'm convinced he would have been seriously injured. For the record, I asked him if we should "go for it" and after he said yes I told him to buckle up. No one was hurt, and everyone was ok. Actually, I think seatbelt-less kid ate window. Regardless, by far the dumbest thing I've done.
Oreo931
Regardless, by far the dumbest thing I've done. That reminded me....The DUMBEST thing I have ever done was totaling my first car by driving like a complete asshole, and almost getting myself killed in the process. Learned my lesson big time with that one. (And dont say "omgomgomg lies! u r teh street racerz!")
stick70
havent done anything too dumb in a while, but, put my r-bumper on and while letting the car down on the lift let it down right on the oil pot. Lucky it only left a very small crease in the underside of the bumperas far as the accidents go ive only had one, went into a curb too fast (110) in the ol na s70 and went through a ditch inches from trees, got lucky, came back out of the ditch at ~70 didnt hurt anything, but there were 3 others in the car, and if i would have hit a tree at that speed we all would have been dead
T5power
dumbest thing. hmmwell i'm not a bad driver by any means, but i have some bad luck i guess you can say i'm driving down a dimly lit road at night with parked cars on both sides of the street. nobody is out, it's like 1 in the morning. i have to make a right hand turn down a small 1 way street coming up and i don't realize it and pass it. about 20 feet after i pass the street i remember i had to make the turn, and i stop. i put my car in reverse, turn around to see where i'm going(mind you there are parked cars blocking my view of the street so i can't see if any cars are coming) and so i'm at about 6-7 mph.... and the second that the tail end of my car passes the street, a guy on a bike coming from that street emerges out of NOWHERE and i hit him, going in reverse. he doesnt have any lights on his bike, no reflective gear, and definitely did not stop at the stop sign. it was a very awkward situation after i got out of my car and he got up, off the ground. luckily he was alright. Young Burnsy
Haha, mine isn't that bad.35 mph in reverse while my abs unit was bad so no abs. hit the brakes, they locked up and slid the rear end into a stop sign and knocked it over. Just scuffed up my bumper pretty good. I got lucky i didnt hit the quarter panel. :)
