Tax the wealthy more? Who do you think creates the jobs? You'll get more back if you still have a job, and those that are still unemployed don't bankrupt the system before I get my check. Earned income tax credit? Isn't that a rebate for folks who don't pay taxes? Smacks of income redistribution to me.

Where's the money going to come from? McCain's going to tax the middle income a lot faster than the rich, they're the ones funding his election. The hit is coming.

I think Obama should leave business taxes alone up to 2 mil revenue because that's where the jobs will be coming from.

(I have recently worked with Boeing in St louis [MilSpec] and these guys have money to BURN! Price is no object, no matter how frivolous the expense)

Back in 89, I had to cough up 6K in capital gains taxes when I sold a house, but I had a lot more opportunities to make a good salary and comissions that I have had under the Republican administration. 98 was my best income year to date. I would pay it again for a bettter domestic business environment.

From my old white guy perspective, both parties are turning us into a 3rd world country, the Republicans are just turbocharging the process.

I'm not a Republican shill.

Your not?

what pisses me off i that i can ask 10 canadians on the street who the current US president is, who obama is, who mccain is, and now who that women from alaska is (name is usually a far stretch in the first couple weeks, but most will know anyways). And 9 out of 10 canadians can answer all those questions.

I ask those same canadians who the current prime minster of this country is and ill prob get 5-7 out of 10, i ask them who is running against our prime minister (elections coming up soon also) and ill maybe get 3 out of 10. I wouldnt even be suprised if people didnt know who there own premier was ( a governor basically).

Dad brought a paper back from Calgary ... all US news. Canadian politics ... isn't that an oxymoron?

I thought her speech was pretty good last night... seemed very confident and knew what she was talking about

Creationists by definition don't really know what they're talking about

Politics are all about "seeming" a lot of things. Because the average schmuck is oblivious to facts (so is the media for the most part, facts aren't profitable out of sheer boringness)

Dude you link me to a left wing web site that thinks John Daily and Colbert are serious newsmen, and question me on weather I'm a shill or not? WOW. I may be a right wing nut, but at least my politics are derived from the Constitution. The left must own more computers than the right.

Jon Stewart (Daily Show) and Colbert are serious news men. I think Colbert has said how serious he is enough times to make it true

I was buying Doritos by the case! He is a funny bastard, my goodness. Now, Bill Mahr you can take out and just shoot. Ok, I'll just hold him up as an example of a left wing limousine liberal elite. Keep your enemies closer...

Oh yeah John Stewart, John Daily is my big fat cigarette smoking whiskey drinking professional golf hero!

Those Doritos are delicious! I like Bill Maher's show but I do think he voices some pretty strong opinions on certain things. It makes for some good arguments when he has politicians on his show though. It's funniest when he has stupid actors on his show and the conversation spirals into ridiculous topics.

I just hate when he has liberal actors like Ben Affleck on his show because then they just agree with each other and they don't fight.

So here is my view on Palin. she was a nobody 15 years ago, she joined the local PTA because she was unhappy with the way things were being run. she then continued her climb to mayor of Wasilla. she did a good job there and ran for Governor. she won, and cleaned house, ridding alot of corruption and doing away with alot of frivolous spending. now she is running for VP. She fishes, she hunts. her husband is a fisherman, she has 5 kids, a son that is ENLISTED, and a pregnant 17 y.o. daughter. if you take her out of the picture, her family is pretty much a normal family up here. there are no white collar people in this family. her husband is not a lawyer, her son is not a commisioned officer. they are truly the average family. I don't ever remember there ever being such debate on a VP candidate. is it because people are afraid of change. yes Obama says he is for change, but other than the shade of his skin, he is the same as every other career politician. I believe that Palin will really shake up the status quo, and people are scared to death of that. And yes she has said to pray to god for certain things. i am as far from religious as one can be, but who cares? what is it going to hurt?

she'll shake up the status quo, but will take it the wrong way in my opinion. i do agree that this much debate over a VP candidate is a little ridiculous though, it's not Obama vs. Palin.

and her daughter made her own CHOICE to keep the baby, what if her choice was an abortion? would it have been hers to make? and shouldn't it be?

(I can feel the flames already )

Without taking her out of the picture, her family seems normal to me. Pregnant 17 y.o.? What's abnormal about that...

Personally, I don't have a problem with them having "flaws" (experience).
