jross
dude... they were both presidents.. in the same political party... how is this even close? kerry sux.←The Bushes and the Regans may have been in the same party, but they didn't get along. Did you not see Regan's son's speech after his death? Also, to everyone that's bitching about Kerry's mention of stem cell research in regards to Mr. Reeve, you're all aware the he (Reeve) was a big proponent of stem cell research -- just like Regan? Kerry was trying to honor that.Do your research, people. Honestly.

matt1122
Forget being a TOOL, when Ragan's son dies Daddy's going to be waiting in purgatory to lay the smack down. What a jerk off - his father dies and he speaks out against his fathers belefs or such (I don't even remember it that well, I just remember thinking what a jackass.). PATHETIC. ChuckV986
My thing with embryonic stem-cell research is this: If they embryos from abortions are going to be destroyed anyway, why not use them for something useful?

gdizzle
Like I said before, why use something so crude that has been proven to not be effective. There are more viable options that have more success that don't include murder.
matt1122
OMFG! They aren't banning embryotic stem cell research!!!Do you want your tax dollars to go to research that is not likely to turn results any time soon (embryotic stem cell) or would you rather they go somewhere they will be more effective? Don't you understand that the reason for no longer funding embryotic stem cell research is simply that it isn't the most efficient use of our tax dollars? Bay13
Not in this country, apparently. Not true, you can do all the research you want to, there is no law against it, the point with the debates is that the Government is ONLY paying for stem cell research. If you want to do embro research, get all the people that are for it and have deep pockets and have them start digging. All the rich that are complaining about the tax cut being for only them, let them fund it, they seem to have so much extra money.

"We can't have that, can we?". It wasn't touching on the stem cell bit, but the fact that this country feels like it's running in circles sometimes. Or maybe ovals. Definitely something closed-loop. wills
Kerry & Edwards just say whatever it takes to get elected. The real question is what have they DONE?
BeachRat
embryonic stem cell research is wrong and shouldn't be allowed. It has been proven that stemcells from umbilical cords and adults are 90% more effective than those from embryos.←So you'd be willing to let them take stem cells from your bone marrow rather than from something that isn't even a fetus yet? Stem cell research has the potential to help people like Reeves. Granted, that kind of technology may have been farther away than Reeves could have utilized but it's there. And don't tell me an anti-choice president who bowed to the Pope's condemnation of stem cell research a supporter of such a topic. I dare say the first time he heard the term he thought we were going after plants... :D
