I have this question to think about. Throw as much insight into this as you wish.

What would be the two main factors that you would pick as responsible for terrorist violence in the Middle East? Make two policy recommendations that would help the U. S. in reversing negative perception of U. S policies at the popular level.

I think causes of terrorism are very hard to generalize but I believe that terrorist violence in middle east stems from a belief that violence is a tool for change....

Im having some trouble coming up with the policy recommendations.

1. Radical Islamic fundamentalism.

2. Western ethnocentrism.

1. A withdrawl from Iraq.

2. The head of GW Bush on a plate.

Yes I agree with your first two. As for the recommendations, I think the country is too unstable to pull out of currently. It was sort of a no win situation to begin with.

A gradual withdrawl that is supplanted with infrastructure redevelopment and an internationally coordinated peace keeping force.

Damn i should of thought of that a couple years ago while I was still in college.

OOOO....OOOO...OOOO.... let me know where you are going with that one!

My main research question is "why does the developed world allow such injustice especially from MNC's."

Its a pretty easy one to answer but there is a lot to look at. Main motive being the world revolves around oil currently but why havent the people of Nigeria seen any of the money that their land provides....

Oil exports account for >80% of their governments revenue, and has helped reshape public health, education, and transportation policies.

They "allow such injustice" because they lack the technical capabilities and know-how.

What would be the two main factors that you would pick as responsible for terrorist violence in the Middle East?

1-American policy of free trade, oil consumption and foreign dependence. Competing in markets where we drive the common class of people out of work. I.E Flood our country with immigrants because of NAFTA and then despise them. Making capitalism a priority over human rights. Why do you think the “World Trade” Center was attacked? Making financial trade agreements with countries for oil and in turn funding their religious wars.

2-American hypocritical foreign policies in general. Selling weapons and giving funding to help over throw governments. Building military bases on religious ground. Massive human rights violations by supporting non-democratic governments and rebels.

Summarized as Oil and Foreign Policy.

Make two policy recommendations that would help the U. S. in reversing negative perception of U. S policies at the popular level.

1-America should not sign trade agreements with corrupt governments or nations without democratic freedoms. No nation shall be traded with that does not treat their people equally, allow people to vote on policy or have the economic and ethical foundation to pursue fair trade with the US. Heavily peruse energy independence as well.

2-America should not provide assistance to any government, rebellion or coup that does not have democratic fundamentals. All religions and beliefs of the region should be respected and carried out to the best of the US’s ability during an occupation. Strict humanitarian values have to be followed by any US funded group or company. The US will not attack a region unless a direct threat is known, by a state or person publically declaring war or a direct physical attack of US owned interests. Thus abolishing the Bush Doctrine.

2. The head of GW Bush on a plate.

That would actually have the opposite effect. It would say that the terrorist action works, so whenever you want something like that, go back to the terrorist tactics.

1. Radical Islamic fundamentalism.

2. Western ethnocentrism.

Both good

1. A withdrawl from Iraq.

2. The head of GW Bush on a plate. Both bad and mean spirited.

A gradual withdrawl that is supplanted with infrastructure redevelopment and an internationally coordinated peace keeping force.

Very Good.
