little update - Just talked with the guys at styling motors - an intercooler hose kit for S60 will come out in 2-3 months.

Yeah, it was supposed to be September for the full s60 kit :lol::lol::lol: i can wait, i got no money anyway.

BTW:Headline, the kit i was talking about is just for vac lines, no IC lines and the quality and customer service at stylin is amazing.

Also, being a member helps, you get a 10% discount for regular members, 15% for supporting members (which costs you $10USD for 6 months on VS) so if you become a member, membership will be pretty much free cos you are getting more of a discount and also get the extra forums, R forum etc..... :lol::lol::lol:

i placed the order at styling for vacuum hoses and will get the other kit when it comes out.

I guess will hear more about how the IPD's tcv works for S60s as things get sorted out.

No worries mate. What colour did you get?

I had one of the troubled IPD TCV'S also, electrically and mechanically it was fine, problem was it was only giving half boost.

Got my money back, IPD are great to deal with, suspect it was just an s60 thing as usual, just like the HID's and the warning lights.

Oli, i got the black one, i'm afraid. the best for me is not to have to open the hood at all, but performance and reliability do count. if i went for colours i'd probably get my engine both with blue and red hoses and with some yellow poli bushes to make it look like a parrot :)

strange the problems this TCV has. i'm glad i asked and did not jump in.

LOL, come on man, your actually from Sweden, Blue and yellow FTW! ORFL. Nah, black is nice and i'm sure you will be happy.

Just remember when you are installing them, it's easier to remove the strut bar first as you can see alot more. Also, don't be afraid, you will learn and PPL on VS are always happy to help, my suggestion is search, search, search......

When I joined i spent heaps of time reading and researching, you can learn alot from other peoples mistakes. :lol::lol: :lol:

just throwing in here in regards to the TCV/BCS. i am using the AC-Delco model. previously my boost was erratic and very unpredictable. after installing this heavy duty unit the boost has become solid and stable. it's not any greater, and infact might have been a bit less as i no longer had any spikes. that was fine by me as i pair it with a 3bar MBC with very pleasing results.

Chiming in late here but there was a thread a while back where several of us built our own for half the cost of the IPD controller.

I did this in my wife's 99 T5 and the boost delivery was noticably improved (came in sooner, stronger and held strong). Though I rarely drive her car, she said it made a very noticable difference... said it's not as sluggish overall.

I got a replacement valve from them and it rocks

boost is pretty much the same but at 2000rpm u boosting to 5psi boost climbes away quicker

can you please explain more. i'd really like to understand better how your car changed. i dont have a turbo gauge myself.

on my car i feel the turbo needs lots of time to spool up - annoying at low rpm but after 2500-3000 rpm it goes really strong. i guess that's normal for the big turbos on s60, that's the character pf the car, different from a LPT.

do i understand right that your turbo kicks in earlier? i'd love that on my car. any downsides at higher rpm?

hey, why IPD does not write explicitly about this. i got the impression their TCV is just more durable than the OEM but does not change your engine working in any way.

no, unless your current TCV is totally trashed. boost comes on more smoothly and consistently, and holds better in the high rpm's. or at least that was the case for me. if you want the turbo to spool up sooner, do some research on adjusting the wastegate

The AC/Delco unit worked better than the stock Volvo, in my experience with it. I had posted the boost improvements in another thread, don't recall the exact increases, but it raised boost across the board. Certainly a lower cost alternative.
