1. No, you don't need an alignment if you JUST remove the control arm. There's no adjustment at the control arm, it's just bolt on.

If you loosen the strut to steering knuckle, you'll need an alignment. And I'm still unsure about the 3 strut mount bolts to strut tower. Just don't touch those, and your alignment will be fine.

2. On yours you can re-attach the control arm when the car is off the ground since the bushing design is completely different.

I'm currious tho. The two shafts that go through the two rubber bushings on the control arms and bolt to the subframe, are they free spinning? Or are they bonded to the rubber bushings in a set position?? I think they're bonded. Either way I'm sure you can tighten it up in any position. Because it they're free spinning, there will never be tension on the bushing. If they're bonded, they're bonded in the level position, which the car naturally sits in, so once the car is lowered, all is well.
