Ludeless Posted November 4, 2008 Report Share Posted November 4, 2008 I might be up for a meet...would be great to celebrate finally getting my car back on the road after a loooong 11 months Closer to Detroit / Troy area is better for me. Still not used to the idea of taking the car on a longer trip so soon after her 'operation'. Tryin to keep her close to home base in case of any catastrophic failures. Hows the trans?-MarkBasically just did a rebuild of the engine and turbo, and trans swap (auto for auto) Had a valve job done too. s60 R manifold, turbo back exhaust, IPD ECU (which i haven't put in yet...wanna get some more miles on it first). It took so freakin long b/c i had started out planninng on just doing the trans swap and turbo rebuild....then i noticed my cylinder walls were worn a bit and the pistons too...so had to have it bored out and put new pistons in... at that point i figured it was best to do a full rebuild bearings and all... So had to have her off the road until i came up with the cash for all the other stuff that i hadn't originally budgeted for... I still gotta put on a couple wheel bearings, and replace my rear suspension mounts. I'll probably wait til next year for it though...don't plan on driving it much in the winter so i'm not in a rush at this point.The trans is holding up good so far . Although now i really wish that i would have judt done a 5 speed swap... didn't think i had the ability to do the swap when i started the project, but after rebuilding the engine...i'm pretty confident now :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
