mrtl321
AL Franken is ans asshole and a disgrace to the Senate. Who voted for Franken? Any of you losers on VS? Being a college student up in Minnesota while he was running was quite an interesting time. Apparently he showed up to a rally at the college drunk and being his usual self. I'm glad I don't have to live up there, even though I do live in the most corrupt state in the country... take a guess where that is . Sadly I did know some people up there who voted for him, and when I asked them why they did they said "We thought he was a funny guy".
Smithwicks
The attacks on Lieberman's wife are despicable, but par for the course for the wacky leftists. Who said what? I know John Stewart was PMSing on his show about Lieberman. Sadly I did know some people up there who voted for him, and when I asked them why they did they said "We thought he was a funny guy". Shit, take a guess at how many people voted for Obama because it was the 'cool' thing to do in 2008.
Pops Racer
Lets breath some life into this thread. Brown gets elected, medical sector stocks rise, some a whole bunch. Effectively, the legislation is done. Basically the investors see that govt is out of the way, and worth the risk. Obama starts planning what amounts to a punitive tax on the financial sector. Financial stocks fall, taking market with 'em. Basically the investors see that govt is in the way, and not worth the risk. Nuff said. <_< 1
cbon
Effectively, the legislation is done. I wish; but I kinda think the legislation will come back, possibly from a more obtuse angle, and/or piecemeal. It's about the money to be made, so they'll just get more sneaky. cbon
Going back to the gold standard is the one that sticks out most in my mind. And I wouldn't say he was borderline crazy, just filled with too much common sense. That and immediately pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan. He was big about that during the 2008 primaries and still is. I don't think his stance on either of those issues justifies the labels of "out there" or "borderline crazy" (and I do acknowledge that you "wouldn't say he was borderline crazy"). Too many people will continue to let the boat head for the falls, simply because they're afraid of creating waves if they were to turn the boat around. "...too much common sense." ha! Yeah, I always wonder if people realize how ironic their use of that "argument" is.
gdizzle
The problem with Ron Paul is, if he were to be elected president, what is he going to do? Nothing, most likely due to a divided congress. It's why we need a 3 party system.

Pops Racer
Scolding the Supreme Court? Does he realize there is a Constitutional Separation of powers? lawyers and union spent way more than any corp. and the Dems were the major beneficiary. Biden and Pelosi both had face surgery, they were doing stretching exercises. scary. blahblahblah.

Does he realize there is a Constitutional Separation of powers? lawyers and union spent way more than any corp. and the Dems were the major beneficiary. Biden and Pelosi both had face surgery, they were doing stretching exercises. scary. blahblahblah. pelosi was looking pretty artificial up there. (botox, etc) and biden looked like he was going to start crying during the entire thing. When did he scold the Supreme Court? I watched maybe the first 15 or so minutes then started tuning in every so often after that. I do know if one had played a drinking game with everytime he said 'jobs', 'small business', and 'tax credits' you would be dead of alcohol poisoning 10 times over. Still, from what I heard of his speech, most of his goals and aims seem like its going to be another expensive couple of years.
7 VII 7
expensive and it will never happen. Pops Racer
He got on the SC for striking down major provisions in McCain/ Feingold, campaign finance laws. Corp. can't contribute directly to campaigns, I guess. He's worried about foreign entities. But that was not covered in the ruling. Chinese Red Army donated $6 million to Clinton/Gore.
