This bastard...

Obligation for what? WE have an obligation to take care of ourselves, not become serfs or indentured servants to the ruling class.

Find where it says in the Constitution where we have an obligation to take care of people.

Protect the borders and keep the law, thats the only obligation of care.

The rest is up to you, or are you to inept, stupid, lazy, unlucky, uncaring, slovenly, or other wise indifferent to your condition?

And why are there so many fat people on welfare and food stamps. And why do they have designer jeans, iphones and cable TV? Is that a Constitutional right I missed?

I'm real sick of this abuse of power, and the elites that think they know better than me...about anything.

McCrystral got canned, he spoke public out of the chain of command, not professional.

however no one is saying he was wrong in his assessment.

And Obama should have turned the resignation letter around and told him to get back to work.

He is the most thinskinned politician, he is weak and preoccupied with his bases agenda and not America.

Now he will appoint Paetraeus, who both Biden and Obama excoriated in 2007, I mean insulting his efforts in Iraq.

McCrystal asked for 30k troops, or risk failure. Obama took months to send 20,000.

We risk failure.

Ugh I just hate his voice. He just SOUNDS like a pansy. Too many pauses and he never sounds confident when he talks. Someone needs to get rid of hit teleprompter and get him to talk on his own. Then we will get to see this wimp try to make his own

Read my first line again. Its insubordination.

He should have known that doosh ( the author) was out to get him. He's in Afghanistan now trying to make US look bad again.

Shoulda taken him out on patrol and left him out there. Prick.

And the Generals staff should know better than to let that little prick hang around.

Bush would have canned him for the same thing, although he would probably give him a freedom medal first, then fire his ass.

You can't just slap him on the wrist and send him back to work because that means he will do it again, and his staff will do it.

You can believe that if someone under McCrystal said those things about him, that person would be manning a weather station in Antarctica at best, court marshall if he was really pissed.

Unemployment Benefits

Gotta love election years especially when the economy is still crappy. Everything they (Repub&Dems alike) do, especially now is in order to win votes in November. It still cracks me up how Republicans are trying to market themselves as proponents of responsible government.

Many Democrats also see the benefits as insurance against the economy sliding back into recession because laid off workers typically spend their payments quickly, stimulating the economy.

Of course Dems dont want unemployment benefits to run out, a person getting a check a week is going to be a happier voter than one who isnt.

Whats the current number of weeks max you can get?

Wingnut, you could have fun in the comments section of that article. :D

Exactly, the president is at the very top of the chain of command, and McCrystal was his subordinate. I know the concept of authority is difficult for some civilians to understand, but the military isn't your local domino's, you don't bad mouth the boss in public and get away with it. IN FACT I think Obama should of not let McCrystal keep his four star rank, he should have "retired" as a two star. If I was to say I disagree with my commander's policy to a local news paper I would be fired instantaneously. Also you guys are very very confused about who McCrystal is and what he has done, first off his ROE policy really monkeyed stuff up for the ground troops in the hot zone. You have to go through like 100 people in order to drop one bomb, now imagine yourself ducking behind a rock getting shot at by 30 some dirka dirka's and having to wait and sit on your radio for 20 minutes just to get approval for close air support. In a firefight five minutes can mean the difference between life or death, I'm extremely happy with Obama's decision to put Petraeus in charge, he's already changing the policy to make the ROE more clear so decisions can be made quickly, and save lives/put steel down range.
