beachnut
How stiff do they feel BeachNut? They look nice... the color on that thing is freeking unreal. I love it. ←Oh they're stiff alright! I didn't like them at first, but I've gotten used to them and I think they've settled in somewhat after being on the car for ~6 months. I've thought about switching over to Koni's to get a softer ride, but the folks I've talked to that have them say they're harsh too even on the lowest setting. Ride quality seems to be subjective depending on who you talk to though, some people think jarring the fillings out of your teeth is smooth Whether you get H&R or Eibach I don't think it matters, it's the strut. IPD seems to think the Koni's are not as harsh. If if were to do it over again I'd get them.
Veneficus
I just checked out shox.com this morning, and they have the B&G springs rated at a 1.6" drop.... anyone have these?
beachnut
The only thing I know about B&G is that on the Mazda Protege/Miata/MX3 they give the best drop compared to Eibach and H&R.
blown_volvo850r
Sweet...u know shox.com has a deal for Konis/Eibachs and Konis/B&G. Koni yellows all around w/ Eibach or B&G springs all around. $695 for Eibach style and $645 (I think) for B&G style. Great deal if u don't wanna shell out $1600 for KW VIIs.~Lee
Guest Guest
I have H&R's w/Koni Yellows. I would say the drop was about 1", not 1.25". Even with the shocks/struts set to soft, its a bit firm, but the spring rate may be playing a part. Here's what my car looked like just after installation, but has since settled. - the rear sits higher, though:

I guess I'm going to roll with konis, but as for springs I'm still on debate.
blown_volvo850r
Well...I mean if u're in college and don't have $1600 for KWs, go w/ something less. I get tired of people just saying "save up." Like hell...$1600 will be spent on a bigger turbo, chip, exhaust, and tuning to womp everyone else's jerk. I'd rather have my car look slightly higher and handle not as good, but take down 90% of the cars on the road.~Lee

Rocketeer
B&G made Volvo Springs for over 30 years OEM. They know their stuff with Volvo's. Plus they are fairly reasonable.
steve s
don't forget the feel on a s/v70 is just a little better... 850 tend to be a little noisier/harsher..that said..the springs i got from ipd said 855/v70 on the box
Veneficus
I think IPD is kind of out of the question for myself, seeing that I want to get the package deal from shox.com (I'm cheap. ).
BeachRat
I like the look of the Billsteins and BG's on beachnut's car, but the Koni/HR package on "guest"s car looked sweet too. I also am having the same dillema of spring/shock combos since I, too, am in college and $1600 for KW's is possible, but such a stupid move it's unthinkable. I've heard good about both everywhere I've looked so I don't think you can go wrong... but then again, I wouldn't know first hand.Edit/Afterthought: What WAS Lee's avatar? Curiosity itches so very very much!
