Thanks for the nice comments.

I wanted write this guide to pay back VS Forum for all the help I got and prevent Volvo loving people being taken to bank by stealerships and stealershops.

Alboguy,

I am guessing but no more than $500 for both sides including alignment even at stealership (cost for 2 anchorages, cost for alignment, and 3 hours labor).

confused_al,

Yes, they were Scan Tech's. Vertical bolts had two different sizes: one 14mm and the other 13mm :( .

Please don't scold me buying cheap parts. It had 175,000 miles on it. My son was using it until end of last year after he learned to drive using it. We got him a better ride because it stated heavy P/S leak and coolant leak on top of check engine light and oil leak. I was going to donate it because I thought it could cost close to $1000 just for parts. Cold midwest weather changed my mind. I thoroughly missed the heated seat and quick warm-up of turbo engine. I tried to save as much money possible looking for two more years of ride in this brick.

Cn 90, magicaljake, aaron,

Visually you can see high negative camber (top of tire inward) looking from back. As Chilled Man warned you would have high negative camber if anchorages were flipped.

When I drove after taking the car back from the shop, the car was wandering around quite a bit and made a clunking noise when backing up or cornering. I thought the wandering was due to messed up front end alignment after I replaced P/S rack. I haven’t driven this car for 7 months since I taught my son to drive. I am guessing this thing broke around 170,000 miles because I didn’t feel or hear the noise when I was driving.
