Jack8745
would be nice if the rods/ pistons / crank fit the old 2.4s - get some high perfomance parts second hand
Dave 54
Agreed, I'm a little confused why they'd use two turbos rather than a single. It is still 300lb/fts of torque though.Quiker spool up, more lower end power!
NoodleKnight
Agreed, I'm a little confused why they'd use two turbos rather than a single. It is still 300lb/fts of torque though. They're diesel engines, their limited rev range yields lower HP figures. Doesn't matter since the high torque output is what matters.EDIT: nevermind, I should have bothered to read the other posts, lol.
Cal3thousand
i just had another baby a week ago and i been saying weird stuff since... im so happy volvo inst going crap hybrid bs... deisel engine usualy have low hp and high trqCongrats!Back on topic, what about the trannies? I see that they said they improved frictional and pump losses, but what about gearing? are these trannies strong enough to handle to the 420Nm? are they geared to take advantage of the low end torque? Cal3thousand
They are aiming for 2010-2012I presume its designing the urea injection system and the logistics of refilling? Like BluTec did?
swedishiron
Honda claims they will offer diesels that won't need a urea catalyst to meet US emission standards - Volvo SHOULD be able to do the same since they claim to be an environmental leader and will be LATE to the market. Thought I heard somewhere that honda is going to use their nanoparticle technology to get this done. Could be mistaken though.
