Volvos 2 New Diesel Engines

Agreed, I'm a little confused why they'd use two turbos rather than a single. It is still 300lb/fts of torque though.

They're diesel engines, their limited rev range yields lower HP figures. Doesn't matter since the high torque output is what matters.

EDIT: nevermind, I should have bothered to read the other posts, lol.

Congrats!

Back on topic, what about the trannies? I see that they said they improved frictional and pump losses, but what about gearing? are these trannies strong enough to handle to the 420Nm? are they geared to take advantage of the low end torque?

Honda claims they will offer diesels that won't need a urea catalyst to meet US emission standards - Volvo SHOULD be able to do the same since they claim to be an environmental leader and will be LATE to the market.

I think that will require redesign of the catalyst. Thought I heard somewhere that honda is going to use their nanoparticle technology to get this done. Could be mistaken though.
