Congrats to Aaron, his team, and you Nick on the progress. Curious to see what was bolt on vs. fabricated.

I'm curious as to what we all define as "bolt on" is. Bolt on to me is it goes right into place, no issues, no modification- anyone can do it in their drive way. Some of this was that way...some of it required tweeking....some stuff had to be made. The vast majority of the issues that came up were things that had to be thought through and various parts swapped around to see what worked, that's where Aaron's knowledge, patience, and time came into play the most. The largest issue here is on the 2000 having the 5sp auto vs the 4sp in lookinforjoe's car, the axles, etc are not the same and S60R stuff isn't quite right. I think some are wanting this to sound like it's a simple deal- and maybe I make it seem like it was harder than it is- but there is more to it than just bolting up the six speed and away you go....if it was that easy it would have been done before. I think the other big thing on this swap VS others is cost. The biggest issue we lack right now is the tune being dialed in, Juan has the same issue at the moment.

Regardless I'm happy with it and no matter how "bolt on" everyone wants to deem it I doubt many others will complete the swap.

Nick

I don't mind the stickers.

they were kind of a last minute after thought before the VOCA/txcrew get together.

its easy to get carried away when theres a cutter 3 feet away.

Not sure why your making it so hard seem like it so hard ?

Maybe comes skill level and such ?

Regardless looks amazing

Considering if you use all volvo items ...

Unless I missing some major items ?

yes volvo parts, question is what volvo parts? aaron had to go around and shop thru volvos entire generation of FWD parts bin in search of what fit and what didn't. you'd be surprised how between the years things got moved just a few millimeters and didn't fit right.

I am not trying to make it seem overly hard, I just think there is more too it than most people are thinking- people such as yourself, etc understand what goes into it and have done similar things and it's a non-issue. This is not as much of a cake walk as a regular FWD 5speed swap on an 850. After mine is done the job will be much easier since it will be sorted out. Aaron can comment a lot more since he's been there and done it the entire time, I wasn't able to do the swap personally due to being relocated for work and living in an apartment. I'm not trying to make it seem hard but some have over simplified it.

Same reason we are not posting everything either.

This is spot on. Thanks for putting it into words John. Happy Easter to your family too BTW
