cicatriz
Replacement lenses for my Oakley XX Sunglasses are $40. Not bad.Problem is, I need them in prescription because I hate contacts and I can't see without my glasses. Prescription replacement lenses are $160. Any eye people on here that maybe possibly potentially have a connection that I can get these cheaper?
J0E
What's with everyone here asking for a "hook up" on the most random things? Are you guys really that cheap, poor, or both where you need to feel to save a buck or two to be happy with a purchase? Or are all of the ghetto type where you think you're getting a "hook up" from one of your "boys" when really, you're just putting money in a middle-man's pocket?Sunglass Hut is one of my tennants. I'll go ask the manager of the store if she could sell me some product out of her trunk after closing. I'll get back to you with the hook up in the evening. J0E
welcome to the internet; the land of informed purchases.Has nothing to to with making an informed purchase. He's asking if anyone has a "hook up". What kind of answer is he expecting? Something along the lines of "Oh yeah...one of my homies baby mama is a receptionist at an optometrist's office, yo! I'll ask to see if she could hook it up!" Then what? Such an idea is so far-fetched that it just seems foolish. Does he really think some stranger on the Internet, even if they might have a "hook up", will go out of their way to provide a service for someone halfway across the country they don't know? To top it off, after homie with the hook takes his cut for his time, does he think he's gonna save anything in the end? But like I said, my tenant is SGH. I'll hook you up, cicatriz. I promise...I'll get you a good deal.
khax
i've come on here asking about headlights before and a friend who works at joes nearby who i didn't even know was on the forum let me know he could get me a 35% discount on the bulbs when he was working. that's just a random example, it doesn't have to be a sketchy hook up but for something expensive ( but i guess that is all relative ) it's worth it to check out if someone can help out.. GeraldJ
I probably cant help much in the Oakley discount. I had the same problem till I just bought some "focus night & day" contacts. Now my gascans just wear some dark lenses. Look into these contacts though seriously. I have had the same ones in for about 45 days with out taking them out at all. Just need some eye drops in the mornings and I am set for the day. But for JOE I have to do it......
Mesoam
I will say that when I worked at the bike shop in highschool we were an Oakley dealer, the markup on that crap is INSANE not to mention I don't think their product is anywhere near worth the money. Smith an Spy make very comparable stuff for less
caanglin
My cousin is looking in to prescription lenses for his Oakleys also. Joes comments don't seem to be as funny as they use to be. :P

cicatriz
Shit Joe, I will admit I was looking for a hookup but I thought only street races against Hondas and Toyotas stirred up the douche on the other side of the interwebs. Nothing wrong with saving a few dollars if the means are available to do so, I'm sure someone with such a supposedly large portfolio can appreciate saving money. And I'm fully aware that the markup is ridiculous, which is why I asked. From $40 to $160 for a prescription is insane. I'm gonna check a couple other Eye Glass places and see if they might do it a little cheaper, otherwise I'm gonna see about some replacement lenses from another company. My eye doctor said he can go through some other sunglass companies that will cut whatever size lense for him with prescription and polarization for a lot cheaper.
