Mattbchillin
What is your take on torture. Do you think it helps get information? Do you think it is worth it? Do you think bad people knowing they arent going to be tortured give up information? Does it make the country using torture look unhumane?Any thoughts?I have been reading a series of books about the CIA and the fight against terrorists and torture seems to be a reaccuring theme with the USA's people and goverment. I think that it should be used against someone with solid evidence. To me if these bad people know they are going to be treated fairly they are just going to clam up, but knowing there will be penalties if they are caught, i would think they would give the information faster knowing something bad will happen. I know if US soldiers are caught by these bad guys, they will be tortured for information.

Iloveboost
Sometimes the death penalty isnt enough for something that has been done. Thats where torture comes in.

javadoc
Which question do I answer this inhumane poll for?Is torture useful? Is torture "worth it" (worth what? a package of Oreos?) Is torture OK? Do baddies who know they won't be water-boarded or have their junk hooked up to a car battery just give up the information? Is it inhumane? Do I think?Confusing... samadkins29
To be honest, we wouldn't have terrorist is the USA wasn't so full of itself..... although this could lead to another argument. I voted for NO, since way to many cases of wrongful torture have been found. Road to Guantanamo - example. Also I am not to afraid of people across the world in the middle of the desert who don't even know what a laptop is. Not to mention - more people die in wars that any terrorist attack. So are they really saving American lives? My .
javadoc
To be honest, we wouldn't have terrorist if the USA wasn't so full of itself.....I'd disagree with this. Well, possibly all of those bombings in the UK and throughout Europe in the past 40years could've been aimed at the US, but they were just missing. I'd agree that the US has become a bigger target lately, though.

Either way, terror attacks have happened and will happen, no matter how many people are killed. Its a fact of life. Torture really wont solve much.
