waldendan
I have only hit one cone ever, so I guess I am Mr Clean Run. just about all of my cones are hit from me getting too close on the inside, not from way over driving and plowing through a wall or something like thatGet used to it. At least you are out there tracking the car. Anyone can drive a Miata fast around the course. Where is the challenge in that? Thank you, my thoughts exactly, there is a great bumper sticker on the back of the SCCA van, it reads "Drag racing is for fast cars, Autocrossing is for fast drivers", and the same thing could be said about Miata's and Sti's and evo's, if your not fast with one of those than you are doing something wrong, I have taken my buddy's STI out on fun runs a ton of times and it just gets me frustrated with the limitations of a FWD open dif boost monster!!! , but I still have a blast trying, and if I'm able to take some of the better cars, well that just makes me feel better about my driving skills, or lack there of, :P
Zappo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blPFbrlyYn8Ok so here is the Video, I only got 2 runs recorded, and they start at 2 minutes, at least my fastest run of the day was with no cones, in the second video of me you can see some coneage, at about 4:26, got a little to close to it , hope you enjoy, results will be posted when I get themAre you running slicks? waldendan
Are you running slicks?well you might be able to call them that, RT-615's, and this is the third season on the tires, and this car is my daily driver!!! Oh and the tires have 20 passes down the drag strip. They are at the wear bars now, I will get another set of these tires, they have proved to be a really great tire for the money, I only paid 120 a piece for them and they have lasted a lot longer than expected, ride nice, good traction. I want to get some wheels with R comps but I can't afford that, I'm going to buy a lsd before I get r comps

USMC850T
no I can't make it I forgot about a friends bday party that day, oh well, one of these days I will make it out there damnit!!!I hear ya on what you and Zappo are saying, but with the spacers I noticed my turn in was better and the car more flat during the turns, I was faster with the spacers ???? Don't know what else to sayIf you only had 1 clean run, you're probably not consistent enough yet to make that determination. I'm not picking on you, if they feel good use them. Do the whole season on them and then at one of the last events try with and without them.

Do the whole season on them and then at one of the last events try with and without them.haha, good point, except that I am pretty consistent, I kept hitting the same damn cone!!! Except for my first run, all my times are usually around 1 second or so of each other. I don't know, I will keep you posted on how I feel about them, so far I enjoy how the car handles with them on. This is my 4th season now autocrossing so it's not like I'm a total newbie, I will keep everyone posted with how I feel about them, well my whole car, through out the season. I hope to make a few more changes this year, but we will see

waldendan
http://home.earthlink.net/~ejhonda/2009Season.htmHere are the results, My first run is always about 2 seconds or so off my pace, learning the course, on the run where I hit 2 cones I nailed the one after the other one that got me on my other runs, I just kept hugging that first cone in the transition to the other lot just a little too much, at least my fastest run was my clean run, I get pissed when my fastest is not a clean one!! First run didn't actually start till 11:30 (reg closed at 9). I was in the last run group and didn't make my first run till 3pm.

First run didn't actually start till 11:30 (reg closed at 9). I was in the last run group and didn't make my first run till 3pm.our event was kind of like that too, we normally start right around 10:30 like we are suppose too, but with it being the first event of the season and our normal reg. people not there it took a little longer than usual. our first car was out at 11:30 as well, we all still got in 5 runs (normally 6) but we had no time for fun runs the next one should be more effecient
Zappo
Wow, lucky you don't have 200+ cars showing up like we do.Biggest delays we have are caused by course layout and the number of cars you can have on course safely at one time.

waldendan
Alright time for the second event of the season, it is on sunday the 31st. Reg closes at 9:30 so be there before then!! well the results are up for event 2, click me!!.. it was a blast, although I was having some trouble with the ABS in my car which was allowing my rear wheels to lock up excessively, the only clean runs I had all day with no car issues were my last 2 runs, oh well, part of racing right?? The next event is going to be at the OGS lot on McCarty Ave in Albany on June 28th, I will remind all of you when the time draws more close, and my buddy is still working on the videos I got during the race so when I get those I will post it up for you all to check it out. waldendan
Next race is this sunday at the OGS parking lot in Albany, right off 787 and 9w (if you need more detail on location ask), be there by 930 to register and first car off at 1030 (without delays of course) Like always I will post up times and videos of the event as I get them... all you out of state guys that were going to lebannon valley yesterday for 3 hours of dragging should make your way over to the autox, more seat time and more fun, also less tools swinging their dicks around so there is less chance of getting a bruise
