VTT5
Thats your clear coat getting ready to take a shit on you Perfect time to get a respray before its too late and it has to all be sanded off.Forgive the ignorance, but for a guy with limited paint experience, you're referring to the fading/fogging shown here? Che'_Moderator
Forgive the ignorance, but for a guy with limited paint experience, you're referring to the fading/fogging shown here? Its showing the clear has degraded to the point where the paint is oxidizing. When you polish cars like that you will see black on the rag. Thats your paint.

Thats your paint. If there's black on his rage . . . . it Isn't a base coat, clear coat job from the factory. . . . . .& a 500 paint job is just that. Realistically your looking at 4-5 grand if you want an OEM job. Anything less is a waste of time.

I said a new clear coat would be about 500 if they can salvage it. A decent paint job is closer to 3k.

A decent paint job is closer to 3k.You can't Just put clear coat on with out doing the Same amount of prep as you would if you were refinishing the Whole car. butting clear coat up to and against moldings & what not is just as bad as butting color. 500 your talking backyard painter, Maaco or Earl Shieb.
