Ran my buddy's Lexus a while back, I was running pump gas and about 15 psi...just a quick, friendly 0-60 or so. Shut him down pretty handily.

Toyota V8...lulz.

Like everyone else here who has ever accelerated in a spirited fashion, it was naturally on a closed course.

You kids are sensitive! :)

You guys need to visit TB and take down some notes on "funny." :)

His car is stock, save for a K&N.

Mine has a 15G, MBC, 3" turbo back, chips, 46 lb. injectors, ipd cam, FMIC. Good for high 13/low 14 @ 18psi on 110.

So let me get this straight...you raced your Volvo with pracically every modification available and supposedly runs a "high 13/low 14" against a stock Lexus luxury-coupe that's as old as some members here?

I don't get it. What sense of accomplishment did you gain out of that?

Well, grasshopper...I shall enlighten you. since you apparently missed the first line of my post.

First off, it wasn't a "race" per se. My friend who owns the Lexus wanted to see how quick the Volvo was off the line.

Seeing as how I formerly held a NASA Pro Racing license and raced a season of 944 Spec, I don't consider that "racing."

Second, you seem to think my car has every modification under the sun, when in reality, the tune is quite mild. Small turbo, moderate boost level, pump gas...hardly "every modification available". Not to mention, 204k miles on the engine AND automagic slushbox.

As for the "supposedly runs", you are free to refer to my standings in the Turbobricks 2008 East vs West shootout. Or, you can just look at my last timeslip:

I am glad that the guys I met at the Volvospeed GTG in Ventura a few weeks back were friendly and mature, and basically the opposite of you. Punk kids like you give web forums a bad name. But that's OK. I'll stay here because there ARE decent people on the board. :)

If you WERE at that GTG, then you have some strange need to have an "alter ego" when you're online. We call that being "E-tough." You can knock it off, you aren't impressing anyone. :)

No that's just J0E.

If you'll kindly excuse him, he is the resident douchebag.

LOL! No worries. I bet my car is faster than his. :P

   Not a CHANCE!

That's OK. I'll live. B)

I just sold the 9 (took a deposit already)...leaving for a stint with the Army for a bit, then this fall I'll be buying an 850 for a DD. I had an n/a GLT, gonna buy a T5 this time. Preferably a wagon. Can't go gung-ho with the mods, but I'll likely do a chip + 3" + intercooler when I buy the car to wake it up a little. Looking forward to it...that T5 sounds amazing once it's un-corked. Not quite VR6 sexy, but very close!

The 245 in my sig will be the track car...350+hp and 2500 lbs curb weight, it's gonna be quick! Looking for a deep 12 to high 11 on the bottle. It checks out on paper, so we'll see. Silly incidentals like bills and groceries have been slowing the project down. :P

don't mind J0E he's got a chip on his shoulder so he's got to come around and antagonize the volvo people. he's got high end cars, a big wad of cash and bigger mouth to go with it.

Here in SoCal, we call those "Compensation Mobiles." :D

LOL...that would be true if I were in Southern California. It's too bad I'm in Northern California, where people have real money. ;)
