Naughty33W
- if this thread really must be moved to maint. or cosmetic please do so Mod.s , thanks i put this in the performance section because i figured it would get the most input and i figure if the center bore is off i might rip off a wheel or something with hard cornering hahahaha ok i'm used to cars where there are plenty of wheel options to choose from so i dont know what the difference in center bore will make so i'm looking at a 5x108 bolt pattern and i BELIEVE the center bore is 67.1 i think that a center bore on a rim that is too small wont fit , but what if its to big ??? wheel options seem pretty limited with our cars so i really want to know what every possible option is - i WANT 18" / 7.5-8" wheels for my s60 - i realize i might have to do some tweaking to keep em from rubbing - but the main question is : can i use rims with a center bore that is larger then 67.1 (or whatever it is) ? thanks guys
mdlimy
if the bore is too big you can buy centering rings to make it the correct size, wont be too bad to drive on wheels that are too big of a center bore. the reason our euro cars use lug bolts and not lug nuts is to help center the wheel better, i have xc90 18" atlantis wheels on my 855 and i didnt run centering rings for a while, i got a vibration at about 65 but it went away and any higher or lower speed. but centering rings are cheap enough just buy them. Generally the lugs center the wheels fairly well though.

Anything bigger than the correct size is the same.

Naughty33W
i'm not sure i completely understand , are they the same as regular wheel spacer kits ? like these (for example) - http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=EST02&Product_Code=VLS-762-202&Category_Code=VL-S60-su i see they have a central taper , which i assume is to center the wheel (hubcentric?) , if so , would i be able to use a standard 5mm spacer kit ?(for a 5x108 obviously)
Naughty33W
BTW - is my center bore 67mm or 65.1mm ? i looked around and have seen both numbers . I THINK its 65.1mm (a few things had that as the center bore)

(n)A-GAME
lakeshore wheel and tire on ebay. I got my centering rings for my neptunes from them for like $12 shipped. Those are 67-65.1 rings btw
--Aaron--
I'm no expert or anything but the new wheels/tires I just recently bought from Tirerack needed centering rings and clips, which were installed when they got here......obviously the CB is more than what a stock Volvo wheel has but none the less they securely fit over each hub and ride like a dream at highway speeds. :D
Captain Bondo
Most aftermarket wheel manufacturers intenionally make the centerbore quite large. Obviously simply centering rings will make a wheel with a too-large centerbore work. If the centerbore is too small, you're obviously pretty much monkeyed other than major surgery.
