z31jaime
ok well im sure most of you have seen my wagon, but it you havent pix are here.... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3128652 so this guys is interested in trading me a 96 Mustang GT for the wagon. Which i think is kinda funny cause i traded a 95 Gt to get the wagon. so im kinda remembering the fun i had in my old stang and considering the trade. pix....of the stang.... INFO ON THE STANG... 1996 ford mustang gt 125,000 miles odometer stop working at 120,000 new black pearl paint new 17in black rims with brand new tires on them new euro head light ( have orgianl to go with it ) 5 speed stage 2 racing clutch cold air intake flow master X tube duel exhaust interior all redone cd ice cold a/c my issues are #1 i've always had 5.0 stangs never a 4.6 so its gonna be something new for me. #2 my last stang got 7mpg, durring the gas crunch hence why i sold it, (30lbs injectors,gt40 heads,4:10 rear, the hole 9 yards) so im kinda remembering how mad i was with the gas every day. #3 i have a very heavy foot and was always getting pulled over in the stang, vs the wagon.....never...its a wagon who pulls over a wagon....lol But the mustang IS A MUSTANG. on the flip side...wagon needs an EGR,allignment, the body kit pulled off (meaning a respray of at least half the car), Oil cooler lines. and thats before i can even think about getting ecu, or 5 speed swaps etc etc etc....but its a volvo and it very orignal around this area, not like the tons of mustangs.... KBB is about the same on both cars so now one really lossing eather way, he has some exhaust and intake, i have body kit and audio, so it compensates. what do you guys think? HtownTurboBrick
So would you save more money by fixing and keep the wagon or paying out the ass for gas in the stang? I'm not a fan of that generation stang, 00+ is what i'd prefer. In the end it's all in what you want and need. If you're not happy with the wagon anymore, or you just want the stang more then you have your answer. A stang vs. a wagon is apples and oranges the determination in what you're looking for are vastly different between the cars.
Chilled man
light the wagon on fire and call the insurance company But I would take the stang fix it up alittle and then sell it and then get another volvo.
z31jaime
light the wagon on fire and call the insurance company But I would take the stang fix it up alittle and then sell it and then get another volvo. lol unfortunatly i dont have full cover so lighting it on fire would no nothing at all....lol after shopping around and looking i think i migt just keep the wagon.... its not perfect but it runs good gets me where i need to go and at the moment isnt costing me anything more then gas. i only have another 2k to pay off on the credit cards at which point i can afford to trade in/sell the wagon and get a newer car. Dan A
Credit cards are evil. Anything you can do to pay it off and stay debt free is the better choice. Your wagon is way more unique anyway.

Double0
No way I would trade a wagon like yours for a 96 stang, that 4.6 2v has the non pi heads (added on the 99 to 2004 stangs) and is one of the most under performing engines in recent mustang years. That stang would be a dog compared to your previous 5L cars. Plus I see it has the factory 4 by 4 package Your wagon is way too original to trade for this car, for a 99 & up maybe but not this one. z31jaime
well thanks....seeing as how this was posted back in july i think, its safe to say i kept the wagon. please remember that i posted this back when my wagon had that honda body kit on it. now i wouldn't even consider that as a trade.
