Is A Fan In The Pits A Good Idea ?

Reaction time on the best run was .3258.

Import Class. First was an Audi S4, second/third was a Neon SRT (heavily modified).

Bracket Racing? If it's heads up racing your reaction time isn't factored into your ET. You can sit there and get ready to launch for 5 seconds and you can still get a regular time. Don't be rushed by the light if you're not ready. RTs only matter in bracket racing.

lol since when is a neon an import? :P

whith that MPH you should already be there. work on your launch. what were your 60' times?

I agree. trapping 100+mph you should be pretty close to 13s.

yea, that's what a few people are telling me. 60' times were averaging 2.46, best was 2.41, worst was 2.65. The 2.46 was on my best run. Need to work on my reaction times also for more consistency. If my reaction times were closer to perfect I should be right around 14.00 or lower.

2.2 is about what you should be aiming for. I've heard that about a 10th at the 60' is about .2 seconds on your ET. It's something like that anyway. If you get your launches down you should be real close to 13s. If you can't do better than mid 2.3 @ 60's might look into getting new tires or try different techniques for launching.

If you're struggling to get a good launch try shallow staging to get more rollout (it's really needed in these FWD cars)

To give you an idea of what is possible, I ran a 14.9 @ 90.6mph and had a 2.27 60'.

Yea, I was doing shallow staging, and then I was launching off as soon as the last yellow light came on. Was launching around 2500RPM to minimize the wheel spin in first gear. First run I launched at 3000 and the clutch was slipping all the way into third gear. Definitely need to work on my launches.

keep in mind that the most grip is when the tire slips just a little. Laterally, it translates to 5-10 degrees of slip, so whatever that translates to when you're launching off the line. Might be good to spin up your tires a bit as well to knock any dirt off them. No need to heat them like slicks though. Keep in mind that a little bit of tirespin is safer for drivetrain components as well. Of course can't do anything if the clutch won't hold.

like anything else, it takes practice. you'll get it eventually.

Exactly! My best run of the night was when the sun went down and the track start cooling off, the track bite was going away, and my tires were slipping for like 10ft on the best run my buddy said. I totally agree, would rather have the tires slippin than the SPEC clutch.
