DHV70
So my engine was burning oil like crazy in the last couple weeks for some reason, and the intake manifold is all full of oil and shit. What can i use to clean it out before it goes on the new engine?
Dave 54
Just did this a couple weeks ago, used a wire brush(small one kinda like a tooth brush)and about 5 cans of crc intake and TB cleaner. Then I used about 3 gallons of gas through it swishing it around and scrubbing down the outside. Must say it's clean and the TB is all pretty to now. B Mac
Have you tried acid wheel cleaner? Ardex makes a product called "buster". It's a wheel cleaner specifically formulated for the wheels on bimmers, volvos and benzes. I used it on my manifold and I didn't even have to scrub it (full strength...no dillution). Just sprayed it on and waited a few minutes...hosed it out and shizzam, shiney. My neighbor is an Ardex distributor if you need any .

troyhyde
Try "Purple Power" from Wally World. Works great and is water soluble. It contains lye so will burn your hands if you get a lot of contact. More friendly to the environment than petroleum products and works great. Fill and slosh. Repeat.....off engine of course
DHV70
lye... meh. it doesn't burn much unless you get the solid state on your skin. and thanks guys! although i still need to find out what the valve is made of...

Big Will
My reaction to ardex diluted about 10:1 on a set of rims was something like this: "Nope, false, erroneous...WTF..." and then I walked away in disbelief. I fear the abilities of Ardex. It's like a super-hero with a bad attitude.
(n)A-GAME
The Ardex website sucks. How can I order some of it?
