Fake-R
I do not think I ever launched my s70 or my 850R this bad for the trans/engine? It does put additional stress on the drive line, but to what extent, I'm not sure.
Leo850T5
I never launch my car on the streets... I got in trouble for that before. I usually 3/4 throttle to 3k RPM just to build boost, then launch it. On a sticky track, it doesn't even spin that much.
Wagoneer855
You know my method... did that not work for you? I tried everything else with my car and that's what got me the quickest 60ft times. Now I have a manual and I need to start all over again <_<
magicaljake
i find its best to roast them just a little bit.... its a fine line between doing a complete burnout and bogging it down...with my 5speed
B Mac
Leroy: Next time you go out, try this method. Rev up to 4.5k and hold it. When it's go time, let off the clutch about half way, the car will start moving -- you should have almost no wheelspin -- from there, feel the tires grip and then let go off the clutch. The whole process is much quicker in real life obviously. Are you trying to be fast or just burn your clutch.... Proper way to launch: Put up E-brake, let clutch out until it starts to grab and start pulling the suspension down...at this point, let the clutch in JUST A LITTLE BIT...you don't want to rev and hold the rpm, you need to bounce the gas pedal to keep the turbo spooled because I'm sure none of us use launch control/antilag. 3500-4000rpm works well to bounce to. When you're about to go, drop the ebrake and have some fun. The point of letting the clutch out a little bit is so the gears in the trans are locked together. It's a healthier way of beating on your car lol.
C70drvr
I held the revs at only about 2200rpms, then eased off the clutch and onto the gas in a quick smooth motion making sure not to bogg. I go full throttle in first when I feel it bite. I managed a 2.302 60 foot on General Exclaim UHPs using that method.

I dynod 310wtq but I'm probably closer to 340-350 now and they don't spin too much in 2nd...unless I shift hard like a honda guy, then 2nd goes up in smoke lol.
