Have you re-scaled for the bigger maf housing yet? I'm interested to see how that works.

Having fun is the most important, but part of what I find fun is hitting the dyno and getting quantifiable results that tell me if I have made progress or not. smile.gif

I can't wait.

I have - basically just add 35% to the entire fuel map, and adjust the timing values over 62% to get started. I haven't really driven it yet or done any logging, just got it back together late this afternoon. The good news is that the boost spike/surge is completely gone; when I decel after boost/shift, the pressure drops instantly smile.gif Haven't driven it hard to see if my oil smoke is gone.

This is what I did this afternoon

finished intake pipe, fitted Greddy

in place with dump tube - I need a piece of 2" hose to replace that cobbled-up section

got it all to align with my filter housing as well - I'm happy about that

The bobbin cover still fits, too - just have to add a little to the BOV feed to allow it to sit properly

So, now I can do some logging, refine for the 3" MAF & listen for knock with my 'det can" laugh.gif

run a line from your compressor to the bottom port on the Greddy and you will get a slightly faster response time.

Yes - that's next - I had to make a nipple for the Greddy's positive pressure port, now I just have to "T" it into the pressure feed. I still have to set the spring rate on top of the unit, right now it's at the lowest possible setting.

Judging by the size of that Greddy I think overall flow may have been your problem :lol: that thing is farkin huge.

Feels quite different with the 3" intake & MAF housing, and the Greddy BOV provides INSTANT pressure dump :D On the down side, it looks like I'll still have to rebuild the turbo at some point, I do still have some oil smoke. Haven't pushed it really hard, since I don't know whether the timing map adjustments are truly appropriate...

Yes, it was a tight fit, but I have everything set in there without tension or rubbing.

you are a complex individual/thinker, my style is to make things better than factory and simpler to work on and doing it cheap...lolol..but like i said I like your work, not too many people could do what you do... ;)

This isn't so great - having the pressure side attached means that it will vent as soon as it hits whatever pressure the BOV tension is set at. Since this can vary from what it will otherwise open at, I'm not surer I want to bother. In other words, I had my Apexi set to 1.3Kg/cm2. The BOV holds that fine with only vacuum at a light pressure setting. Attach the pressure side feed, and with the same boost setting, it will only reach 1.1kg/cm2, which tells me the BOV is venting/bleeding once it reaches that level. I will now have to keep readjusting the BOV pressure until it maintains the boost level I want. Since that is not static, it means I will have to readjust the BOV when I switch the APexi presets. Too much work, if you ask me :rolleyes:

This is a quick log from this afternoon - I made some changes to the maps - it was too lean @ part throttle/5-10psi boost. Added 5% to 56-100% 2.k - up fuel values, then another 2% to 62-100% 3-5.4K. The weather is bad, so I didn't go too crazy (as you can see from the elapsed time), and my acceleration was not consistent, so the timing & throttle vlaues are up & down. Boost is also on the low side, running 1.2Kg/cm2 (data log under-reports approx.1kg/cm2)

Calibrated to 550cc injectors, based on a map from JCViggen. Basically, timing values over 62% are reduced, along with the 0-12% values.

I have a 3" MAF tune passed on to me by Trent, so I'll try that next ;D
