scandalo
When I did my intake I tried to use a 3 in maf housing from a 960 and had AWFUL throttle response. Swapped mine back for the stock and ran fine. Now I have 3 inch hard intake pipe on a 2.75 maf. Looks really stupid lol. Did you get any of that? Did I miss something here? Did I miss something here? 3" MAF housing with what tune? Without TurboTuner or another customizeable tune, there is no way to compensate for the 35% increase. No problems with throttle response, with the maps rescaled accordingly.
scandalo
TT that is what I was missing :lol:lol . Yeah it was stock at the time. That is cool that TT can do that. Your work is amazing as always Hussein. Love the attention to detail especially the crazy amount of sensors! And this will make how many times redoing the cold side piping? Work on these cars is never done :D

I think I've redone the cold side at least 3 times in the past 6 months or so Did you actually modify the bumper (in your sig) like we were discussing, or is that a photoshop job? scandalo
Yeah it isn't perfect but it looks cool. Here is my thread on it. I need to sand it, re work some structural issues, and get it painted again hopefully all before Carlisle. Also got a IPD stage 3 to go along with my new intercooler and look. Car feels very different now. The XR was my inspiration to do the bumper. I wish more people would use XC bumpers. I like them much better than R bumpers but it is all about preference. lookforjoe
Log from this morning using the TCV & TT's boost control map set for approx 18psi. 4th gear uphill grade progressive acceleration, reaching WOT around the 8 sec mark. Timing is dropping in what must be the peak torque range - 4.6-5K. AFR's look pretty consistent, but a little rich over 6K Still don't have earprotectors for my 'det can' (haven't found any under $20 around here), so The TT's boost control seems to be pretty consistent. I can't log it, since the MAP sensor is powered through the dead Apexi right now.
TRACStar
About the detcan..... I was searching in google and someone made an electronic one out of a hearing aid and regular headphones. They put the mic on a clamp though which I don't think is ideal for testing while driving. I thought about it and if you could put the mic inside the larger copper piece on your setup and seal wires into the smaller tube. Run it to the box and then run the headphone jack with an adapter to RCA's and put it on an input on a headunit then you could listen through the stereo. ;)
Captain Bondo
You peak torque is at about 5100rpm. Now that you have a correct load signal you can 100% calculate there peak torque is. (Bonus, eh?). (In case you didn't know, peak torque will be where load/rpm results in the highest number.) This is of course assuming the timing is roughly correct. Also mass flow isn't falling off too hard at 6500. You could probably bump the redline up a bit.stuff can't edit my posts - that should say peak torque is where MASS FLOW/RPM is highest. ozzimark
stuff can't edit my posts - that should say peak torque is where MASS FLOW/RPM is highest. And following that logic, peak power is where mass flow is the highest.
bum2kev
good to see you are trying out the tcv get an innovate boost logger. much cheaper than the apexi

lookforjoe
Log from Sunday. Picked up a used Apexi head from a fellow VS'er. I tried just the I/O board in my unit, and it works, so somewhere this board is dead. harness continuity to back of board is good, no obvious solder cracks that I can see Anyway, now I can get back to logging with Apexi boost control
fischmama
Whats that stuff on IC 4 (top left)? Check the voltage on the pins of the 7805 (DC-DC converter) middle is ground the outer ones are 5V and 12V.

Check the voltage on the pins of the 7805 (DC-DC converter) middle is ground the outer ones are 5V and 12V. Thanks for the input! Silicone on resistor placed on top of component. Both boards have the same setup - looked kinda funky to me. I'll check the convertor - the problem is the splash screen comes on, tries to go to next screen, then goes blank, which would suggest a bad ground to me, since it's typically the ground circuit that fails, in my experience.
