lookforjoe
60-1 is a big compressor. Like 550whp. I wonder how big a td05 turbine shaft is compared to a T3 or T4... The same seller has a Garrett TO4E journal bearing impeller, which is listed as having a 10.16mm journal (assuming ID, here), mine is 8.97. I don't know enough about comparing specs to know if this is comparable. The 25g is TE06/TD07, he told me that wouldn't fit the TD06 shaft Originally I was asking the seller about this housing/wheel which he said wouldn't fit, and suggested the 3"housing/60-1wheel instead.. lookforjoe
Shaft & wheel came back from GPopShop today, so I pulled the old unit to rebuild... this is the wear that must be causing the leak... wear to seal (after 200miles) housing looks fine PROBLEM is.... I must have ordered the wrong f'ing impeller! Test fitted the new housing. My eyeballed wastegate actuator mount is good. I'll have to locate a TD05H impeller, and get it balanced again... mdlimy
what a pain in the ass! but i really am crossing my fingers for you on this one Hussein, i really would love to see that turbo work flawlessly and let you get around to dialing it all in! Mailed the damaged impeller, Garret wheel & Mellet thrust assy back to GPopShop this afternoon - turns out they can reman the shaft for me & rebalance the assembly. They have a quick turnaround, so there's a chance I will be able to put the car back together next weekend I'd like to get one trip to the drag strip this fall! Captain Bondo
That turbine wheel looks more like the appropriate size. A TD05H turbine wheel has what, a 56mm major diameter? 56mm turbine major and 78mm compressor wheel is a bit of a mismatch.... You are supposed to keep the turbine wheel to within 80% of the diameter of the compressor wheel....

Not being well versed in the technical issues here, what sort of issues arise?
lookforjoe
Finally got the wheel & shaft back from GPopShop! They do very nice work, btw! reman shaft balanced assy Put the CHRA together, and went to tighten the compressor nut, when I realized it wasn't gonna work! The recess in the CHRA was too small for the 60-1 wheel fortunately for me, my local speed shop/machinist is only 5 minutes away, and he was still working... all good now! back in the car; some futzing to get the 3" inlet to clear the heater hoses, repositioning the turbo feed hose I'll find it out in the AM if the smoke is all gone - I believe it is, but it was dark when I test drove it. Definitely more power! :D
ozzimark
That compressor seems very large compared to that turbine Let us know how it performs as you test it out a little more
EricF
Sweet! I'm wondering how it will perform as well. I hope you don't see any boost creep with that turbine-compressor size combination. If you do, some wastegate porting might help :)

Dropped boost to about 16-17psi, and it still stronger than the 20g @ 21. I logged a couple of 4th & 4th/5th pulls, so I'll have a look at those. I know it's too lean now in the part throttle/3-10psi range; AFR's stayed in the low 14's until I romp on it, then they drop in the 12's & high 11's. The map is definitely different than the 20g, so it's gonna take some playing with. The SOUND is AWESOME!!!! :D

How is spool compared to before? :)

Spool feels the same, just more pull! 4th/5th log, took a bit of time to get the Apexi stabilized again with the difference in flow. Not hitting 100% MAF (load) anywhere in here - I wasn't being to aggressive. now I need to spend some time getting the fuel map set. The problem is doing so without spending all my time well over the speed limit Welcome back, I am driving my T5R too, no smoke. Hurrayy Going to dyno next week Cool! Make sure to post the results!~!!
