I haven't seen the inside of that plenum before, thanks for sharing. It's hard to guess what's going on inside a plenum without 3D CFD- there are vortices that can pop up and ruin air distribution or standing waves at certain rpms, but if you copied the stock shape somewhat that's the least risk, you'll probably be fine. My favorite plenum is the one Audi used on the LMP R8.

Thanks. I'll take a read later. My intake doesn't really follow the stock design, it's closer to the sketch I made @ top right (A) in profile, with much larger plenum volume

Wow do you usually see 5 deg spark advance? That's pretty low...

The IC is a reasonable size for the power levels I'm shooting for. The IC temp sensors are read through the info center, I have no more open spots without buying another SSI-4 to channel additional sensor data. Temps I see are well within reasonable ranges, and cold side is always lower then hotside, and usually close to ambient (I'm monitoring all three.

@ peak torque, sure. That's not that bad for 22psi (scale underreports by 2psi). Timing is typically better at leaner AFR's.

Started on the manifold install. Had to replace the PS hard lines from rack to pump & resv first, and remove the old coolant resv bracket, & install the newer strut tower mounted bracket. Once that was out of the way, I removed the stock intake, removed the tensioner & ancillary steel plate, installed the modded ancillary plate, installed the newer PS pump, then installed the modded phenolic spacer, custom manifold, t/stat cover & misc bits.

Now I have to modify all the inlet side plumbing to fit the revised positioning, reinstall the hotside plumbing & the coolant & PS resv.

Finished up the plumbing today - lots of niggling details - had to modify the PS suction hose as it hits the old style tensioner, rethink the IAC valve positioning, revise the breather box fittings, modify the TB pipe, hotside piping was too short across the head, etc.

problem is.... it broke when I drove it. Seems JB weld isn't strong enough laugh.gif - I didn't have room to braise the end plate, and I underestimated the load on the TB extension - I didn't have any real give in the hoses - SO, when I romped on it pretty hard, the TB pulled down & blew out the end plate. So, tomorrow I pull it off & see if I can get the end plate welded biggrin.gif

Removed the manifold this afternoon & had the end plate/TB extension welded. Had him reinforce some of the plenum joints as well.

Cleaned up the welds & repainted the manifold ready to reinstall tomorrow. Have to introduce a little more give in the silicone couplers from the hotside to the TB, to make sure the manifold is not being stressed when the motor torques.

It's all back together - rerouted the plumbing to make sure there's no stress on any of the pipes or the manifold. Reworked the hotside IC piping over the motor to make sure there was adequate clearance over the intake.

Didn't finish until 9pm tonight - so only went for a short highway pull - first impressions are that it's f'king AWESOME!!!! :D It really breathes up top now, much better than the stock manifold. I'll do some data logging tomorrow to see what's up. ;D

Good job Hussein!! It's a good feeling when hard work pays off. I'm sure you have a lot of time invested in the manifold. Post up your logs.
