Hussein you can always do this if you get a different/better turbine housing. I just got this back from pagparts in long island.

I like what you did there. I was wondering what your were going to do after I saw your pics on FB. How much did this run you?

Justus it was cheap man! $100 plus shipping. Not too bad I'd say as long as I never EVERRRRR strip those holes out

Played with lowering the WOT sliders some more - got the AFR"s into the 11's at least. LMA3 IAT & Accel functions died, cannot reset the head unit - have to send the unit in for repair.

Once I have it closer to 12 AFR @ WOT, I'll see if the timing holds up.

What does your EGT look like when your AFR is that rich...I know our builds are miles apart but mine climb below low 12's and if I get in the low 11's or high 10's they skyrocket. 12.2 to 12.4 seems to be the sweet spot for me, at least as far as controlling EGT.

The EGT's are very low with such rich AFR's. To get EGT's over 1400ºF (immediately post-turbo), I need AFR's in the high 12's, low 13's.

I still have to compensate more for the lower boost. Right now the AFR's are up to 11.25ish, so still got some way to go to get it back into the low 12's.

My EGT begins to climb when I go above the 12.4 AFR mark too but unless I have timing way low or am running too lean AND high load, they don't get crazy high. I'm measuring pre-turbo so I guess there is maybe +150-200F difference? What kind of peaks do you see?

Your car is so amazing! I love "tuning in" to your threads to see what you are working on...Those new headers are sweet looking, I hope they net you something substantial beyond the obvious cool factor.

Thanks! I hope the headers perform a practical gain, can't see how they couldn't, really.

I would expect 150-200ºF lower readings in my case. I haven't seen EGT's over 1400ºF even on WOT pulls for some time. Back when I ran the Woth tune, I saw those temps consistantly, but he tunes for AFR's in the low 13's - run great, but gotta watch it carefully.

I'm planning on adding a EGT probe on the exhaust housing - the LMA-3 has built in EGT, so I can log that as well once the new setup comes together.

  • 2 weeks later...

Manifold from Nathan is here.

He even added my support brace & dipstick retainer

IMG_9251.jpg

Using my fabricated one for all measurements - it's a good fit.

Just have to slot the lower mount holes

IMG_9252.jpg

I drilled & tapped the TB flange - he didn't want to do that with no TB to ensure correct fitment.

I'm really tempted to install it now, while I have the car apart for the header install. I want to drive the car with just the header first though, to see what difference that alone makes. This means I may not get the intake on before Swedish Car Day.
