Looks like he managed to put all the required vacuum fittings on there too, that makes life easy :)

Can you take a shot inside the runners looking at the transition from the runner to the mounting flange, near the injector bungs? It looks like there are some sharp edges around there that could use some smoothing out.

No sharp edges - that's just the gaps in the weld on the inside

Cleaned up the manifold today in prep for install tomorrow.

Got the LMA-3 back last night, so I installed it & hooked up the EBP to the MAP sensor, and hooked up the EGT. The scaling is wrong for EGT, so it doesn't register. I found out today the range is -1.16 (0ºF)- 4.3mV (1999ºF), so I should be able to fix that.

The MAP scaling makes no sense - even if you subtract 14.7 from the reported numbers, the backpressure seems insanely high. Port is located in the header collector. Engine does pull really nice up top with the header - I forgot the upshift here - & hit fuel cut @ 7800rpm in 3rd

Installed the intake manifold today, but have to take it out again. The #1 cyl end plenum was pressing on the alternator casing, and I thought it was minimal, but after getting it all together, it definitely has a major vacuum leak, and the flange is the only possibility, I eliminated every other aspect of the intake tracts.

So at 17psi boost, you're seeing almost 30psi EBP. It does seem a bit high for that boost level with your setup, can you hook it up to a mechanical gauge to test and see if your readings are accurate?

Too bad about the intake, how much do you think needs to be taken off for it to fit?

Yeah, I do have the 10cm2 hotside (.73 A/R), which really should be big enough. I am going to get a Hewitt dual boost gauge to replace the single - then I can watch both sides on the same measuring instrument. No way to know whether the scaling of the LMA-3 MAP & the Apexi MAP are the same/similar, and I already know that Logworks underreports boost by 2psi - I have a pretty stable max 17.5psi, according to the APexi AVC-R & the boost gauge. I'll try hooking up another pressure gauge in the interim, but it's really hard to monitor when they are not side by side.

I'm hoping I can just shave/remove the plastic rear cover of the alternator, I hate to hack up the beautiful plenum.

Finally got power restored this afternoon - been out since Sun 6am.

Did a pull yesterday - then found I had a split hose off the intake for the evap system. Fixed the leak, but haven't had a chance to see if it resolved the lean AFR's in this pull

You didn't mention the extreme-upshift-torque popping off the fuel gauge trim? :o

Nah - funny as it was, it was probably coming loose anyway - it's been several years since I installed them.

Used a infrared heat probe to check temps - after a short run, left the hood open for a couple of minutes & checked:

Collector: 800ºF

Runners: 625/650ºF

Head: 195ºF

IC hotside: 183ºF

Intake: 125ºF

MAF housing: 148ºF

Ambient Air temp @ intake duct 95ºF

I wrapped the turbo coolant flex hose with a Volvo heat wrap tube (PN 9497839 $5) intended for the oil cooler hoses - sliced it & gently folded it around the hose/line. Bought a length of 2" ID preheater tubing, sliced & used that around the IC hotside/compressor outlet to protect the coupler from the heat off #5 runner.

I'm going to wrap the header again, as much as I can - there's not much gap between the runners. The collector is tricky. May have to make a heat shield off the cam cover.

2nd 3rd gear pull to rev limit boost underreports by 2psi

On these logs, I usually edit out to 100rpm intervals. In the lower gears, that doesn't amount to many row deletions. In this 4th pull, you can see that there can be as more than 1/2sec increments before road speed registers a change.

WOW!! You like to wind it up tight, don't you :o I know you lowered boost a little, but did you make any other changes that helped with the timing issues you were having? Looking back at your logs, it looks like your 60-100mph times are getting better also. My best is just about 6 seconds, but you're carrying quite a bit more weight with the XC than I am :D

The only comment I would make that for a couple of lines in your 4th gear pull around 4000rpm your A/F get a little rich, and that's simple enough of a fix with the wide open throttle sliders.

The rest of the logs look awesome...

Feels good, but need to run more boost. Every psi of boost = 12WHP, with my setup as it was, based on prior dyno pulls.

Lowered boost 5+psi, added MUCH more timing.

60-100 time is much better in 3rd than 4th.

Wound it up just 'cos I can :D -won't normally go that high.

Thanks - the AFR's in 4th you mention are at part load, not WOT (TPS 4.3v), so I need to figure out what part of the map to adjust for that.
