dublin14
Interested to know what the cost was for that intake mani. I might see about getting one over the winter. I have to say, that engine bay with keeping everything black and silver looks great Hussein.

I would expect around the same as his 4-banger versions, but probably a little more due to the lack of a jig setup for ours.
lookforjoe
Redoing the TB inlet & BOV dump piping - I wanted to clean up the Greddy alignment after installing the intake dropped it down & outward.. Still using plumbing parts, however used studs this time for the Greddy. The ends of the pipe also have a ridge welded in place to improve hose fitment - I've blown these off a few times. The dump housing still has to be welded (not shown) - it will come closer to the Greddy so I can use a single coupling between them, instead of that mess. Swapped out the IAC & TPS, as I developed am annoying high idle symptom today - car idles around 1100 rpm. I'll have to get the Volvo test tool on it Monday & see what's going on. It seems like it's the EMS holding it. There are no coldside or hotside leaks that could cause the idle to be stepped up.
lookforjoe
Revised plumbing is done After this, I removed several inches from the WI nozzle black line - this length was left over from the solenoid location prior to the custom intake install. For whatever reason, the stored ECC codes for power stage & fan motor must also have been affecting the idle speed control - once the codes were cleared with the Volvo "hammer' tool, the idle went back to normal levels, and now operates as it should when starting cold. Very strange, I thought only the AC signal impacted idle speed control, but that does not appear to be the case.
lookforjoe
Haven't had the opportunity to open her up on the road since I did the new IC. I had a go today, but as I was getting onto the highway & just shifting into 3rd @ 70ish - the State Trooper that pulled alongside me in the fast lane caused me to rapidly let off... he opened his pass window, so I opened mine.... he just said "now that wasn't smart was it?" I replied, no not really (not with you around, I was thinking) - and he took off. So, I drove 60 the rest of the way home like a lame duck Not enough data to evaluate any improvements. I'm gonna wait a few days until my wagon gets it's Juju back before I do that again. Added a revised tertiary can yesterday, to reduce oil vapors @ idle in the colder weather - seems to be doing the trick, knock on wood it's about 3" OD, and about 10" tall, vs the small modified eBay (unbaffled) CC I was using
Johann
as I was getting onto the highway & just shifting into 3rd @ 70ish - the State Trooper that pulled alongside me in the fast lane caused me to rapidly let off... he opened his pass window, so I opened mine.... he just said "now that wasn't smart was it?" Well at least he let you drive on. I was a bit smarter than that.. Drove behind a video surveillance vehicle but didn't notice.. He was driving near 90 mph, 75 mph allowed, in the left lane and I was following. Soon after he went to the right and a nice and empty highway was in front of me so I floored is up to 140 mph and took the first exit after overtaking the video car but I kept flooring it all the way down while setting the car on a left turn lane to enter a right turn pedal to the metal which went amazingly well..., one of my favorite corners.. Although still a sort of highway like situation I entered city limits at that point and a bit further on there was a traffic light so I had to stop. I did see the video car stop behind me but still didn't notice it was an unmarked police car. After the light turned green I noticed the STOP POLICE sign in the mirror and all I could think was bye bye driver license.. Lucky for me the video car couldn't make a legal speed measurement while on the highway so they offered me a fine for 25 mph over.. Only 332 Euro's which can buy you a nice FMIC.
lookforjoe
Dang - you got off lightly on that one! I have had too many incidents to keep track of - I prefer to gauge my own appropriate speed.... My case of juice arrived today! Just have to empty the washer solvent so I can test it out! Volvo5.0
I prefer to gauge my own appropriate speed.... Wouldn't it be a "perfect world" if we all could... My case of juice arrived today! Just have to empty the washer solvent so I can test it out! Looks like you got a few other goodies also
lookforjoe
Wouldn't it be a "perfect world" if we all could... Looks like you got a few other goodies also Yes - I have a selection of different rate front & rear springs to test out once the rear Kalpenke setup arrives. Still undecided on whether to get Koni adjustables (8710 1350Sport) for the front (since the rears will be Konis) or just get the Volvo-branded "R" front struts. I do like the factory damping, but they may not work well with the stiffer springs all round...
Prezman26
When you come to Carlisle this year can you take your car to the local dealership here and say something along the lines of, "my car is acting funny, can you guys take a look under the hood for me?" :D

B Mac
I would put the adjustable konis on the front so you can tweak it to your liking. The ride with konis is tenfold better than oem dmping or bilstiens. I'll take a ride down to your place soon so you can test mine out if you like. I'm just waiting for a few things to come in the mail so I can do some data logging for Lucky with the little bit of race gas I have left in my tank, after that I'm good to go. lookforjoe
I was going to ask this on v70R.com, but what spring rates are you going with? The rears from Ben will be 350-400lb'ers. I have a range for the front, depending on how it acts with the TME's up front. I don't recall (if I ever knew) what the spring rate of the TME AWD spring set is... NEU
I'm interested in front and rear rates for the TME AWD kits... I wouldn't mind a little stronger spring in the rear with my Nivos. I use mine wagon to haul stuff so coilovers aren't desirable at all. I'm not completely happy with the stiffness of the TME Nivo spring either combined with TME fronts with Koni Sports set on full stiff. I am happy with the ride height though. So same length but a stiffer spring would do the trick for me. My old 245 had KYB Select-a-ride gas struts set on full stiff w/ R-sports springs up front, in the rear IPD Overload springs and Bilstien HDs, stiff spring and soft dampening, I loved the way it rode...
