Deimosian
When you come to Carlisle this year can you take your car to the local dealership here and say something along the lines of, "my car is acting funny, can you guys take a look under the hood for me?" Nothing more fun than trolling service reps.
bum2kev
i think you need 2 piece rotors front and rear ;)
lookforjoe
I would put the adjustable konis on the front so you can tweak it to your liking. The ride with konis is tenfold better than oem dmping or bilstiens. I'll take a ride down to your place soon so you can test mine out if you like. I'm just waiting for a few things to come in the mail so I can do some data logging for Lucky with the little bit of race gas I have left in my tank, after that I'm good to go. Yeah, I'm going to go with the Koni's. I'd rather have the same brand F&R. I have the wheel from Adam here, too.Pics of my revised tertiary can baffle base of can sits down in the splash pan - I can drain it by reaching under the front bumper filter on top
lookforjoe
Cue Funeral March....... .....Excess CC pressure on the way to work - noticed heavy blue smoke whether accel decel, puked oil all over the motor, blew the seams on the secondary can... added 1 quart at work, stopped at a hand wash & power washed the motor to prevent fire & drove it 6 miles to the gas station I do work out of in the summertime. Pulled the plugs, did compression test. Zero compression on # 4, oil soaked plug, header oil saturated around #4 cyl. That explains the blowby. Looked in with a boroscope, and there are two anomolies (sp?) - looks like cracks, chips at edge of piston, can't tell for sure with all the oil in there - until it comes apart. So, the wagon is down for the winter. I have to finish my Thesis papers this month, so I can't even think about looking at it... On the bright side, I should be thinking about what upgrades to do with a different bottom end

Platinum 850
Noooooo.... Sorry to hear that. Good luck on your thesis and will be tuning in once the rebuild gets on its way...
lookforjoe
cracked wall? any coolant loss or just oil? Sorry to hear that. Just oil - massive blowby. Time to find a windowed 2.3l RN block.... I guess I reached the limit of the stock pistons - this isn't the one that had the damage from the valve dropping... B Mac
Yeah that was an interesting phone call: "hey Ben, I think I-...no, I know I broke my motor" Already found an '04 2.3L coupe donor block though. Round two should be even better than the first with some extra strength in the bottom end. I am very exciteeee!
