854TGA+
For the life of me I can't find your thread about your X-1/9. My Boss is just starting to work on his and he had this vid this morning. What a screamer!
NEU
^Drifting mid-engines is fun! I've done it in my 914 once! Not intentionally...

My Boss is just starting to work on his and he had this vid this morning. What a screamer! I don't have a thread on the X1/9. I have several threads of various mods on Xweb (linked in my sig) I took this video after I installed the headers/Camaro muffler I wish I had a Dallara/wide body kit! If I keep this X, I may figure out a turbo swap at some point. I'd like to use a 4cyl whiteblock in it....

lookforjoe
Soda blasting might help. Have you personal experience with this? I could buy one relatively inexpensively. The media doesn't pose the same threat of sticking to the interior walls? I am already thinking of getting a 500 Abarth SS. Problem is, a C30 R design is not that much more..... C30 is also a bit more powerful, and 1.4T should pull some nice HWY MPG numbers.
854TGA+
Have you personal experience with this? I could buy one relatively inexpensively. The media doesn't pose the same threat of sticking to the interior walls? After any media blasting, I was under the impression it should be washed down with soap & water then oiled. Problem is, a C30 R design is not that much more..... Edited March 8, 2012 by 854TGA+
lookforjoe
.... The problem with regular (glass?) media blasting is that the particles stick to the aluminum & don't leave from washing. They will then come loose when the engine is back in operation. That is my understanding.
lookforjoe
Painted the pipes I modified for the new turbo Have to figure out if I have sufficient clearance for the WG off the AC & P/S lines up by the firewall I think it will end up low enough to clear based on this older pic
lookforjoe
Built the air filter box today. 7" OD piping, slit & tapered to 6.5", 3" inlet pipe. Made it about 2" longer than my plastic one, plenty of breathing space around the element. K&N RX-4730XD (3" inlet, 6x6.5")
