Started raining around 6 - didn't get to finish up enough to where I could fire it up last night.

Should be running this evening, weather permitting at this point. Re-fabricating the hotside piping for the new compressor has to happen early enough so I can get it welded before 4:30 pm. It's gonna require several tight radii to adapt to the new offset of the compressor outlet, had to point it back toward the firewall somewhat to clear the #5 runner. Other than that, it's mostly just putting parts back & realigning wiring & piping for best fit.

I did bleed the clutch before I put the rad etc back in - easier to reach the bleeder that way.

short line off the bleeder, immersed in brake fluid. Crack bleeder just enough to let air out, not enough to suck air back in around base of nipple

keep resv. completely filled, stroke pedal about 20 cycles, recheck & top off level in resv. stays up to bottom of fill neck. Repeat until pedal feels good, usually about a pint of fluid, continue until level in resv. is just below neck, tighten bleeder, done.

Should be picking up bumper cover today as well. They said they were baking it yesterday afternoon. Not holding my breath on that, they've had the covers for over a month now.

Went to crank it over, just to get the oil pressure up - and no bueno. No crank. First, I thought it was just the battery had been sitting around fro months now, so I jumped it off the Mustang, made no difference. So, either I knocked the trigger wire off the starter or I have a more serious wiring issue. I'll have to crawl under tomorrow after work & see what's up.

Nice to see it come together now. Im also glad to see that MLS head gasket out of my office and being put to some good use lol. Most exciting build and beast of turbo Ive seen yet on VS.

took starter out after confirming that wiring was not the issue.

IMG_0660.jpg

had to snake out the starter past shroud/rad hose/harness/clutch hard line

turns out the new Bosch starter had two contacts - the one I should have used was on the bottom, not the top as with original. I tested the starter by jumping with batt cables, and worked fine so put it back

After that, I installed plugs, coil packs, wiring, inlet piping & air filter. Fired it up!

didn't want to idle well after a minute or so, had to sit in it & keep idle over 900 rpm , AFR's were in the 15's, after running & stalling a few times, it leveled off & stabilized in the normal idle range, around 14.8-15.2. I drove it around the block before the light was gone - no front end installed yet - & it stalled on decel/stop. I ran it at idle in the driveway for over 1/2 hour after that.

Awesome Hussein, Ben was saying you might be stopping up this weekend or something, but I won't be around to check out the awesomeness. Nothing better than hearing an engine fire for the first time.

Priorities bro...priorities.
