Volvo5.0
The problem is I don't own a Go Pro. I guess I'll have to look into that. I bought one recently to record fishing trips. Just now started playing around with it on the car. I'm not sure how much better the Hero 2 is compared to the original Hero, but if you don't mind last years model, you can get a decent price here...http://www.bhphotovi...s=REG&A=details

I don't care if it's last year's model, personally. Suction Mount > some guy trying hold a camera through the sunroof as hussein does 4-5-6 gear pulls. Yeah, the latter ain't gonna cut it, based on the road speed required to get up into 6th. Probably wouldn't go out of 5th, actually. The problem with all of this, is the road speed issue. Most of the pulls I do are impromptu, and based one my gut feeling about the road I'm on. As soon as it becomes planned/premeditated, I get much more queasy about it. Pulls with the hood off will definitely draw attention.
Mesoam
Let me know the next time you're headed up to Ben's shop space, I'll swing up and maybe we can get some recordings, I have a small Kodak Zi8 with an external mic
boxpin
I have last years model and my friend has the Hero2. The only difference in recording that I see is the low light, his is much better. But for daylight its pretty good. Here is me like a year ago. I have a bunch of metal parts in the back so you hear a lot of clanking around. The camera is just stuck to the sunroof glass. Wide angle HD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ2PSzPJv5w
blkaplan
If you all you want to check is engine movement your better doing that in lower gears. Drive around in 2nd and do heavy accel and decel. That will put the most stress on the mounts to see the worst case scenario.Thats awesome, I never thought of mounting it to the sunroof glass. very good angle. lookforjoe
Can't figure out how to embed this with my new cell, sorry guys. Can't figure out how to edit it, either. Here's the 3rd gear pull from this morning; 60-100 4.34 sec significant improvement over old setup, even at under 18psi WOT AFR's still off here - so I enriched the WOT sliders & the main fuel map after this. dublin14
4.34 at only 18psi is pretty dam good... and its a wagen. As I said before, the 6262 isnt even awake at 18psi lol. Does it feel like its got more nuts at this psi with this turbo vs when u had the old turbo at 22psi when you got the 355whp. It would be interesting to see what the car tuned with VEMS vs TT at the same psi will be like. Edited June 17, 2012 by dublin14

We did a rolling 1-2 pull with 4 guys in the wagon when I was up at Ben's - gets close to 90 in 2nd before you know it. Biggest problem right now is my shifter - if I shift to fast it misses 2nd - have to get new seat bushings, it seems to have too much play at the shifter itself. I've tried adjusting the cable spacing at the trans by bending the mount bracket to no avail. Once I have the base map with safe AFR's @ WOT, I'll start raising the boost & watch the timing for pull. Once I'm happy with the TT mapping, I'll focus more energy on the VEMS. I'm still working on the VEMS ECU wiring, and having some trouble finding how to manage the Volvo IAC - there's different style settings for Stepper, PWM, etc, & I don't know what category the 3-wire Volvo-spec unit falls into, which will determine how I wire that to the board. IAC is the toughest part. Dual Coil Solenoid IAC Control Found in some BMWs (Bosch) along with Toyota & Subaru, These have three pins, one of which is common, one is a solenoid that opens the idle valve, the other is a solenoid that closes the valve. If neither coil is activated the valve remains in a 50% open poisition (preset-spring type), or moves freely between opened/close position (no spring type). B Mac
Gary I'm going to put this lightly....it's effin insane That turbo isn't even breathing yet at 18psi and he's still running a maf. 25psi with VEMS is going to be ridiculous. Thats just it, the MAF and TT cant make full use of that Turbo. So the VEMS opens up the next door.
