Comparison of Treadstone & CX Racing IC external fins, both staggered design.

not that different, which is probably a good thing, or it would likely restrict airflow to the AC & Rad.

Internal fin count & design is quite different - hopefully this will result in lower coldside temps/ lower approach.

1/2" thicker & 1/2" taller (TR-1235, 30x12.5x3.5", 22" core) . Had to add 1 1/2" to the hotside piping over the motor to compensate for the lowered piping.

Wholly Crap, I forgot what that thing looked like.

Question for you....how many miles did you drive before you began pushing your new engine? I am at 66 miles and can hardly stand it.

I put 500 miles on it before I pushed it hard. Up to then, I just kept the boost levels down & avoided heavy loading the engine at low rpms. Since June, I have almost 7K on the new motor.

how do you keep your awd working?

i friend with a good tuned lpt broke it once a year...

Maintain all four tires to even wear & tire pressures. Change the rear diff & BG fluids. Don't do 6K holeshots anymore.....

The only mod I made to the AWD aspect of the car was to add the drain to the angle drive, other than that the components are all stock.

Playing with Cam timing again, to bring vacuum back up at idle. I have various issues with stalling/flooding on restart, and I feel that the very low vacuum I have from the Enem cam setup is contributing.

This is the intake setting, with the cam @ 1.5mm lift @ true TDC. Using IPD's cam tool (prototype from Lucky)

so, I backed off the intake almost 2º

IMG_1579.jpg

vacuum at idle is now around 16inHg (400mmHg), @ 975 base idle (gauge is old, zero is 2inHg)

See how it goes, and if I lose anything performance wise.

I wouldnt be happy with those afr numbers anywhere on that log.

Your not building a race a car nor do you have the ems or tuning equiment to be tuning for that kind of lean power imo, not much head room with those numbers.

I would be targeting no leaner than 12 and no richer than 11.5, i was happy with my tune on my vems it ran very consistently at 11.7-11.9 and i had the piece of mind that it was safe but not robbing horsepower.

if you cant do that with TT then just dont even bother putting more time into it and just baby it until you get the vems running( i know i know i need to find my db9 plug so i can hook it up to the computer).

Is there a reason the afrs are never steady? does TT suck that much? lol
