Didn't like the way the cam gears looked with the flat face - so I had my machine shop guy cut 2 .030" radius grooves into the faces

then I decided now was as good a time as any to make a tool for rotating the cam more easily

piece of flat stock, three flange nuts drilled out to sleeve the cam retaining bolt heads

Lol. That's out in the garage - been too cold to do any practice - averaging high teens of late. Oxy/acetylene is in the basement :-)

Put the Momo in though, that's quick & easy - except that the resistor I made was 2.5-2.6ohm, and the SRS light kicked on after a bit. L have to make a new one closer to 2ohm out of my 98 contact reel - also thinking of drilling two shallow detents in the back side of the hub to work the stock directional canceling cam.

Installed the DW300 in tank pump today - temps were up in the high 40's - felt quite warm compared to the temps of late.

Cut the floor tub for sender access - back in place here, but you get the idea. Edges are primed & coated for now.

Sender going in - didn't realize the pic was so blurry, sorry. Doing it this way requires cutting & splicing the sender & pump harness - no way to get the harness out without lowering the tank/subframe. I used Volvo connectors cut from another wagon for this

Used DynaMat (buytl) around the opening to seal the panel for now. No time to figure out a more permanent solution today. There is an external cover panel that protects this area from road debris/water/dirt.

The problem up next for the Bosch 044 pump, is that there is no room between the sender & the floor for the quick connect straight fitting due to the minimum radius of the tubing. The 90º connect won't fit because when it fully seated, the barb outlet is pressed against the sender flange. This doesn't allow for the sender retaining flange, which adds 3/8-1/2" height. 90º fitting shown is about where it will need to be. I'm going to see if I can sleeve the stock sender 5/16 barb with a 3/8 fitting & raise it up 1/2" to match how I have it sitting in the pic

I've been driving it everyday - just in 'grandpa' mode ;-)

Did a pull this morning to log fuel pressure, and only saw about 3psi pressure drop over the length of the pull in 4th. I'm only running the 18psi map which has pretty conservative WOT enrichment, so it still got too lean in third, but not due to fuel pressure anymore. I can now go back to the 20psi tune, drop the excessive WOT settings, and see how she goes.

frickin LMA-3 MAP died again, so I need to add another MAP for Boost logging.

Worked some on the sender unit mod required for the 10mm line. Couple of TB threads with alternative ideas - AN soldered, AN elbows through the sender plate.

I don't really have room for those, so I've decided to continue with the 3/8" QC fitting mod.

Cleaning up my old sender. This will be coated with POR15 after complete cleanup, like the other sender.

cut down QC splice fitted over stock 5/16" port (cut top 1" off stock port) - this will silver-soldered in place. Not sure if I'll do the return side as well, that would require fabricating a new line over to the driver's side ejector/level sensor

Provent 200 arrived yesterday - inlet & outlets are 1" ID

installed in place of the tertiary can, primary goal is to eliminate the oil / crankcase vapor stank. Can is designed for either return or VTA. Drain runs out through splash pan, with a capped nipple. Made a "Y" fitting to plumb the two 1/2" ID vents into the 1" inlet.

Doesn't that map sensor always read boost on the low side? I thought I read that somewhere. ie you can be boosting at 20psi but the LMA-3 shows 17psi.

It seemed pretty accurate - more so than the Apexi MAP that I was using. When I had them both in tandem, the LMA-3 seemed to be pretty much on the money. Moot point now, since it's dead. I have a Volvo MAP I'm using for the CC pressure logging, I have to switch over to that until I get hold of another.

Did a log yesterday, its a little uneven as I changed my mind about how far I was going to go. Temps were back in the low 50's, and pavement was dry. Probably won't get that again for another few weeks now.

This was running the 18psi map, raised boost to 1.4bar in this log. Tried it at 1.45bar, that gave too lean AFR's up top. With the new DW pump, I can run slightly more boost pressure on any given tune.

you can see where fuel pressure drops as inj duty (volume consumed) increases (obvious between 7-9 sec), but nothing extreme, I think. I have not seen other fuel pressure/ inj. flow/ volume logs for comparison, so I don't know what is considered normal/acceptable.

This DW chart shows how volume decreases as pressure increases - but does that mean that volume increases as the pressure decreases, I would suppose so, I get confused with this stuff sometimes.
