fischmama
Do you know why the timing is so low on idle? I have my timing set MUCH higher than that for idle.
lookforjoe
Do you know why the timing is so low on idle? I have my timing set MUCH higher than that for idle. I have higher values specified in the map, makes no difference to idle timing. As soon as the throttle position changes, the timing advances appropriately. This is close to my current map, except the 1st three columns are 400 800 1000: Are you referring to TT or MS? Have you logged your actual timing? I was referring to my MS set up. Haven't run the TT in a while. I will check it though when I go and see doug this weekend (he is running my TT). What I meant to ask is any guesses why Volvo/Motronic keeps the timing so low at idle?

I don't think this applies to ME4.3. The stock ME4.4 TT ign map has much less timing (than the ME4.3) in the no/light load cells.

lookforjoe
Also picked this up off a '93 850 ECU box with vent fan & piping. Now I have to figure out if it's worth the time hooking it up. Those top mounts are just fucking sexy.... I know - it''s a shame to hide them under the sheet metal, really. blkaplan
Did you order those aftermarket or for from the dealer? When I bought the bearings for measurement i got them at the dealer and they were INA brand. Edited July 25, 2012 by blkaplan
Mesoam
the 93 ECU box has a fan built into it? My 06 has the fan as well, runs for a few min once the car goes off, it also does not have a fresh air hose.
Martijn_B
Very nice topmounts! How do you by the way get this table? Do you export it out of logworks? (how?) Cheers!

When I bought the bearings for measurement i got them at the dealer and they were INA brand. I usually buy wholesale from WorldPac. The fit in your mount is perfect - no play. Very nice topmounts! How do you by the way get this table? Do you export it out of logworks? (how?) Cheers! Yes, export from Logworks - File>Export>Export current session> CSV format the 93 ECU box has a fan built into it? My 06 has the fan as well, runs for a few min once the car goes off, it also does not have a fresh air hose. Yes, I was unaware that early models had it. I presume they did away with it just because of cost of manufacture - once they figured out the fan really isn't necessary for 99% of the markets.. Ecu box looks pretty cool! It is - just not sure I want to reroute the ECU harness to make it work - the entire casing & ECU aluminum base plates all have to be used... lookforjoe
Re-did the M66 cable bracket on the trans yesterday. I used a 700 adjuster bracket to make a slider to adjust the cable length. Still have a problem when hard shifting under WOT from 1st-2nd, so next step is to rework the shifter ball base - the spaceball shifter has a larger pivot buffer (oring on collar beneath pivot ball) & I don't think it has been aligned properly since I made the hybrid shifter in '09 larger sweep area from top view Have to do the cam & crank sensors tomorrow never did replace these, mine have 150K on them now. Put these in today
lookforjoe
Looks like this is a problem area - the indicated corner prevents the lever from going back smoothly Redid the shifter bucket - cut the guide trough off the spaceball housing reattached in my housing - plastic welded around the edges to fill in the gaps
lookforjoe
After I did the front setup, I took the rears apart to check travel & ride height. Found that the spacer pressed through the upper mount due to lack of free travel (held upside down in pic) Bumps stops mashed Ben has sent me shorter spacers to put on top of the shock mount instead of below but I ended up following his other suggestion of rethreading the rod to the base (shoulder is 11mm, so he suggested threading to 7/16-20UNF), and doing away with the spacers altogether clearance now at normal ride height- before the shock body was touching the bump stop.
