Spoke with Deatschwerks today about using their pump with the Bosch 044 external. Basically, their opinion is that parallel setups will provide the most gain, but running their pump in series with the 044 would not be detrimental, just limited to perhaps 15-20% volume gain up top. They did say that their pump alone should support over 400WHP. The volume gain seems reasonable enough to warrant going ahead with series install. Both pumps are fine with E85.

Also spoke with Five-O Motors to confirm that their modified Bosch EV1 composite body injectors that I'm using are fully compatible with E85.

What about using the new ARD fuel pump?

Not familiar with that - I've already got the DW300 installed in a AWD sender, and the 044 ready to go.

Just waiting for JIC fittings for the hard line and the PVF coated 3/8" line, then I can start laying it out.

Thanks to BMac for the lead (he's good at spending my money for me :-) ) I have another M66 AWD and Quaife 14J on route to me. I'll clean up the trans, install the Quaife, then swap trannies either late spring or early summer. I'll have an M66 AWD trans up for sale later in the year as a result. It'll come with one of my trans mount brackets pre installed, and the casing mod for safe axle removal.

Researching E85 tuning now.

Looking at pump location. No room between tank & floor tub

IMG_1930.jpg

Could put it back here (which is over exhaust pipe)

IMG_1934.jpg

Probably going to have to put Bosch pump where filter is now

IMG_1932.jpg

Then put filter where it would go on a 99-00, which is transverse, on top of the back edge of the subframe, where the vapor lines run right now.

Also JIC elbow is going to move fuel line closer to the cam gears

IMG_1923.jpg

Unless I run the hard line the other way

IMG_1924.jpg

and put FPR down over here...

IMG_1926.jpg

which seems iffy to me, fuel lines will have to go behind ECU box, along inner fender.

FPR with fittings, needs a fair bit of space

new filter/cannister bracket arrived. this allows me to put the external pump where the filter is on the '98 setup - and the filter in the '99 setup.

drilled two holes in the bracket to fit the pump, set on an angle to allow straight I/O fittings for the pump

probably not enough room for the straight outlet fitting - the radius required is pretty wide

bought two different sizes of rubber (oil resistant) tubing from McMasterCarr to sleeve the nylon line where it is exposed under the chassis & over the rear suspension/fuel tank

Where did u get the nylon line? I need to make a custom fuel line from the subframe to fuel filter

You can buy 25' rolls online for around $35, (autozone, # 800-071, for example ) or AutomationDirect sells 100' rolls for about the same price

I used 3/8 - stock is 5/16 or 8mm OD

I like the conduit idea you have. I'm wondering if the added support of it might allow for tighter radius without kinking?

I can get about a 3" radius, tighter than what I show above, but not sure there will be even that much room once that assembly is mounted over the subframe
