Replace the display with a touchscreen and hook it up to a car pc. So much potential here, make it happen.

Thank's Jesus, that's really an awesome idea you've had with the CarPC, but the frame is cut already to fit my old touch-screen Navigon PNA 7000.

P.S. - The original RTI system is MELCO 8096 produced by Mitsubishi Electric.

looks like it mounts where the dolby digital option cars center speakers go. So you'd need an upper dash with a center speaker and just remove the center speaker cover to insert that unit. I'd totally like to get my hands on that for my car PC project. I'd use it to display digital gauges/datalogs/diagnostics and then a dedicated carpc screen in the double din.

My S70 came from factory with the Dolby-Digital system.

A CarPC project with a unit like this would be a great idea. Personally, I got this display from a friend, who found it in his garage in Romania. I hope you find one too. Thanks for your replay. Dragos.

I'd totally sacrifice the center speaker to install that screen for a carpc project. Looks like I need to find a friend in europe
