DragosD
Hello guys. Do you think it would be possible to add this unit with a new (updated) software, to my NA S70 '98 ? Thank you.

beadgc23
Absolutely no idea..why not install it and see what happens? (p.s. - might want to clean it first...)
DragosD
Once has been successfully cleaned, the display looks ok. The rear cover is missing and I have to order one.
DragosD
Looking at the diagram I see that I have a lot more to go.
JordanW
I don't recall this as a US option on the S70. Do you know who made if for Volvo? Maps would be much out of date for this unless there is an update.
DouginDenver
Or are there even US maps if not an option here? But yeah, if you only have the screen unit, that's a bit like having just a computer monitor - you're a long way from having a computer.
Guest Jesus
Replace the display with a touchscreen and hook it up to a car pc. So much potential here, make it happen.

Thank's Jesus, that's really an awesome idea you've had with the CarPC, but the frame is cut already to fit my old touch-screen Navigon PNA 7000. P.S. - The original RTI system is MELCO 8096 produced by Mitsubishi Electric.
DragosD
Mounted and ready to go.
HtownTurboBrick
looks like it mounts where the dolby digital option cars center speakers go. So you'd need an upper dash with a center speaker and just remove the center speaker cover to insert that unit. I'd totally like to get my hands on that for my car PC project. I'd use it to display digital gauges/datalogs/diagnostics and then a dedicated carpc screen in the double din.

A CarPC project with a unit like this would be a great idea. Personally, I got this display from a friend, who found it in his garage in Romania. I hope you find one too. Thanks for your replay. I'd totally sacrifice the center speaker to install that screen for a carpc project. Looks like I need to find a friend in europe
