How the hell is this not a murder charge? Her deliberate actions led to the death of an 8 month fetus. At 32 weeks a fetus is entirely viable to be delivered if necessary.

This is liberal sensibilities run amok.

This is stupid with how that state law is being used.

That is a tragedy and I seen a show on TV (Web of Lies, one of my wife favorite show) where they had another similar story happen to another girl in Northeast state.

It is a crazy world out there.

Because if it was a murder charge then they'd also be charging every abortion clinic with murder. She's still being charged for it, just under the state's existing anti-abortion law ironically.

Attempted murder in the first should definitely be eligible for the death penalty, although I'm guessing she's going to try an insanity defense and get committed.

I don't see that. The mother willfully has an abortion, and this incident involved a third trimester fetus.

Read the end of the article, they reference anti-abortion measures that would have made this murder that didn't pass because they were koo koo.

My mistake, didn't realize you were referring to the article. Still, I'm not sure that's as straight of an answer. It sounds like a poorly written proposed law that if adjusted (maybe with some malicious intent qualifiers) would be fine. The answer to Alain's question is "the law proposed to make it murder sucked". I think we're on the same page, I'm just picking on your phrasing, as it constructs a situation that I'm not sure anyone was locked in to.

No Alden, the answer is people suck. And if you do what this woman did you deserve the death penalty or at least to be locked up for life.
