Mattphi Posted May 3, 2010 Author Report Posted May 3, 2010 Yeah I'm feeling that a lot. I am going to go this weekend to get some estimates. What, you guys don't have a spare bedroom anymore? HAHA. Nope, not for painting. Plus I want it professionally done. No rattle-can for an expensive grille.

DARKSIDE Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 get a scuff pad and make it look like a brushed aluminum. All black grill doesn't look right on the silver car. +1 do the headlights first, then worry about the grille... If ur really serious...just wait til u go to a meet, and swap grille w/ some1 else just for a realistic example of how it'll actually look...then you'll know what to decide...

If ur really serious...just wait til u go to a meet, and swap grille w/ some1 else just for a realistic example of how it'll actually look...then you'll know what to decide... My headlights are "blacked out" already. I did the write up for it like 5 years ago. Dongle sprayed his grille with plasti-dip so I'm going to try it on this weekend. The deal is, I don't like chrome...at all. Even though it's a silver car, there's nothing else chrome and it looks a bit tacky. I'm not going to spray it black but going with more of a gunmetal/charcoal color which I think will actually clean up the front of the car and look much better with my black splitter.
Justin R32 Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 +1 on painting the chrome silver (body color). This looks awesome!
sconeman Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I like em on black or dark blue cars, I wouldn't want em on a light colored car though here's mine
GltGreco Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 its hard to say, see im a huge fan of blacked out grills, but i dont know how it will look on the silver car...same problem im having man.
Jesus Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 Just today I threw on Drew's old blacked out XC grille and then I see this thread. Fresh vote brought it back from the dead. Blacked out is kinda meh.
Mattphi Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 If you don't want it, gimmeh et so I can paint it!
Ol' Dirty Noodle Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 WWMD? What Would Macminter Do????
Jesus Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 If you don't want it, gimmeh et so I can paint it! Think I can be persuaded to part with it.

Piston Slapper Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Paint it same color as car, go. The black would stand out too much I think.
